Very friendly staff. One girl at reception didn't inspire us with much trust though. It's not nice to be lied to. We asked to be upgraded to a better room than what our package holiday included but was told that all rooms were booked full when it was obvious they were not. We were willing to pay the extra cost especially as the room, nicely furnished as it was, was really musty with no natural light. She later had a change of heart and made the effort to call her sales office to ask if it was okay and we eventually got one. Maybe she was trying to cover the possibility that their sales office ...

She later had a change of heart and made the effort to call her sales office to ask if it was okay and we eventually got one. Maybe she was trying to cover the possibility that their sales office might say, "No". In which case it would have been better if she had been upfront about it. Anyway, another staff was extremely helpful and friendly (thanks!). Even the doorman was genuinely friendly, so we left with a good overall impression and pleasant memories of the resort. It's nice to see staff react so positively when you respect them as fellow human beings and not as part of the furniture. We partly chose this place because it had a decent pool, but the beautiful beach was so close we never even used it. If ever we go back to Boracay, we'd stay here again. (We won't visit Boracay again though because we felt like everyone was trying to rip us off wherever we went (e.g. tricycles generally cost locals about 20 pesos depending on the distance; for tourists? 100! That's over 250% more than for a bus in Tokyo going twice the distance!) That's insulting, not making a living. I do

Having read dramatically different previous reviews of the hotel we were a little worried of what to expect of the hotel. The hotel was fantastic. We had a large family room that was spotlessly clean ...
