Tropics has got to be on of the best hotles i have ever stayed in. It is not right on the beech front (which in my opinion is good as it can be quiet loud sometimes).... however it is only about a 5 min walk down to the beech, or however you can get a cyclo from the beech to the hotel for 50 pesos (about 50p english money). The service is excellent and the general atmosphere around the place is paradise!!! I would recommend anyone to stay here as we had such a good time!!! ( Be warned though the beds are sooo comfortable that sometimes you just stay in them all day!!!)...

I liked Boracay Tropics because of the following: 1) very clean rooms and friendly staff 2) excellent buffet breakfast (wide selection of breakfast - a pasta dish, ham, bacon, native sausage/longganisa, tuyo/daing/dried fish, scrambled eggs, omelette, sinangag, bread, cheddar cheese, jam and butter with FRESH FRUITS and cereals). There's surely something that every member of the family would like to eat. 3) it's homey (my kid call it our home. There's Disney channel for kids and movie channels for my hubby when we get home) 4) there's tea and coffee making facility inside the room 5) they can give you a free ride to D'Mall where the different restaurants are - From Aria's to Andok's! (just ask the receptionist or the guard) There's only one big thing I don't like The location! it's non-beachfront. It takes around a six-minute walk to get to the beach. The narrow road going to the beach can get muddy when it rains but you can ride a pedicab for at least Php30 or Php10 each to get to the beach. There's also a construction ongoing on the the right side of the road and there seems to be a lot of bystanders on that road that might make you feel uncomfortable. But if you don't mind walking, it's a great hotel to stay. Tip: Another way to get to the D'Mall or to the beach, particularly near Boat Station 1 where there are less people at daytime, is to take a tricycle for just Php7 per adult. The hotel is located on the main road so a lot of tricycles pass by

it was a five-minute walk to the beach front which was disappointing for us. never mind the 5-minute walk, the beach front nearest it was not even the fine white sand beach. it was a bit expensive given its location.

If you are an English tea drinker, take your own teabags, because only Green Tea is provided. The rooms were clean and well maintained. There was a small leak in the shower, however this was quickly repaired by friendly staff. The Dining facilities were very good and the swimming pool was great. There was no evidence of garbage or poor maintenance. Overall the cleanliness was excellent. The access to transport and shops and the beach were fantastic. No noise from any source whatsoever...maybe the occasional plane overhead, but that was only very occasional and would have been audible everywhere on the island. The pool facilities are excellent and the resort is a 10 minute walk from the beach and shops, or a 2 minute tricycle ride (150 pesos). Proximity to shops and the beach was excellent. It was located away from the clubs and discos, but that suited me. Although the resort is on the boundary between Station 2 and 3 (clubs and discos are in Station 1), it has the benefit of being somewhat quieter and peaceful. I did not realise that the Resort provides transfers from Caticlan to the resort itself. On the way there I paid for the boat trip and tricycle ride, whereas on the return trip, I only had to pay the terminal fee. When at the terminal at Caticlan, look for the resort staff to arrange transport across to Boracay and from the shore to the resort. Generally, we had an excellent stay. Even though it was in the wet season, we only experienced one day with rain out of 5. Of cou

This is a very nice and very clean hotel. The staff are very helpful and friendly and are always ready to provide service with a smile. The swimming pool is very clean and well maintained and the all you can eat breakfast buffet, while not grand, is quite adequate. The hotel's location is not beach front which takes away from it's charm. It's a three to five minutes walk to the beach through a norrow public street. The walk would not have been too bad if it weren't for the fact that you have to navigate your way through tricycles, motorcycles, bikes, people and puddles. Since my wife and I used Kalibo airport I booked my one and a half hour van ride to the air port through this hotel. To my amazement, the van I rented which I thought to be private started picking local passengers. This was quite a caused of concern for me and my wife since we didn't know what was going on in the beginning. All I know is that four men entered the van whcih I thought to be a private transportation for me and my wife. Along the way to the airport the driver picked two more passengers and while I wasn't happy about it, I was relieved that the two passengers were female. Plus by this time, I finally realize what our driver was up to. I'm sure that the hotel does not condone what our driver did, but if you're renting a ride to Kalibo from Katiklan, let your hotel know in no uncertain ways that you expect that van to be private or to be shared only by other tourists.

Having read dramatically different previous reviews of the hotel we were a little worried of what to expect of the hotel. The hotel was fantastic. We had a large family room that was spotlessly clean ...
