The Ananyana is a boutique of boutique resorts ... very small. If you are looking for a complete private getaway from life then this is the place. The food and drinks are on the expensive side because there is no alternative but to use the Ananyana restaurant and bar ... the management know this and kind of stick it to you.
If you have small children who have not or are just learning to swim then the beach/ocean is perfect - at high tide the water is only 2-3 feet deep and it is just like the postcards - aqua blue/green. There is little else to do around the resort as it is located in a dirt poor community which you drive through and have the opportunity to see 3rd world abject poverty.
The rooms are quite basic, no outstanding luxuries - I made the mistake of pulling back the top sheet on the bed, it looked like they had filmed "Debbie does Dallas II" in this room and they all pulled out.
Overall a very pretty little resort but overpriced for what you get.
