The website directions are very poor so we missed turnoff and ended up 20 miles down the road before we realized the error. The map link shows Olongapo which is useless. As is the case with most resorts in the Philippines the low tourist volumes force the resorts to charge too much just to try to stay in business and the willing tourist ends up paying too much for the value received. In the case of Montemar we paid for a 4 star room and received a 2-3 star experience. In Thailand the same amount would have resulted in a 4-5 star experience. This makes no sense as the labor costs in Thailand are higher. Can only be because of low volume of tourists here compared to Thailand...or ......greed on part of local resort owners???
