I would certainly recommend this hotel - the standards here are very high, it is in a great location, almost on the lake, at the top of the town, with all conveniences nearby. The staff were welcoming and helpful. The room spacious, spotless and comfortable. The food was really good. The only negative I had was a small one, I wanted a cup of tea and a snack - i.e. a muffin, biscuit, gateaux or such, and they had no snack for me. We asked for twin/double and got 2 queen beds, lots of space. Good amenities in room, plenty extra pillows etc. Their spa was lovely, a geothermic plunge pool, a mineral plunge pool and a nice tho small swimming pool. Good Beauty Treatments available. Nice gym. Private plunge pools also available. As I have stated in other questions, any request was instantly attended to. They have a very large variety of food on offer and the biggest problem is you would need to bring a big appetite to the table with you, to do it justice. Daily cleaning and maintenance meant that the place was spotless. Also a supervisor called each day to our room to check the standard of work, and ask if we were satisfied with it. No problem with any request, which was always promptly attended to. - i.e. wanted an adaptor to enable me to charge my phone - wanted fresh milk for tea in my room - quick as a flash, it was attended to. Judging by the other guests, the entertainment here is good, but I did not use it myself for other reasons.
If the pool was larger, this would definately get a higher rating from me - but it was very adequate. Very good public areas, plenty settees around with no danger of overlapping with other guests.Outside plenty seating, nice gardens and good parking. Only 100m from Lake. Excellent location - it is located 100m from Rotorua Lake, with a large green area on one side, and the town/city directly down from it. There appeared to be good transportation available, but as we had our own transport, we did not avail of this. For all the above reasons, the price was very good. Absolutely - its a great hotel
