The airport is located six miles from downtown Queenstown and is well serviced by Air New Zealand and Qantas. Although its flights are limited to major New Zealand cities such as Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch and Rotorua, Air New Zealand also operates one weekly flight from Sydney all year round. During the busy ski season, both Air New Zealand and Qantas run direct weekly flights from Sydney and Brisbane.
