Hotel was going through MAJOR renovations when arrived (will copntinue unilt approx Dec 2008). We had paid full price in advance for 6 nights and were not informed prior to arrival that this was happening. Complete scaffolding from ground to roof outside our window, work began 7am every morning with many workmen and banging, hammering and power tools. Was not compensated for these problems and was a major let down on our honeymoon. We would not have stayed at this place had we known about these issues. The room was nicely furnished and had it not been for these problems I am sure we would have enjoyed our stay.

The hotel is not 5 star standard - maybe 3 1/2 to 4. It is impressive from the outside although it is currently a construction site and this was not known at the time of booking. We had a room at street level a few metres from a public foot path and although there were blackout curtains there were no other blinds to give some privacy without being blacked out. Also the kitchen was just across the corridor and the smell of cooking permeated the entire place. Overall it was a disappointment.
