New Zealand is today one of the world’s foremost holiday destinations despite its remote location off the bottom corner off Australia. A combination of breathtaking scenery, as seen in the Lord of the Rings movies, low population levels, friendly people and value for money have sealed its reputation as a tourist haven.

There’s no better place in the world for active kids. Many weird and wonderful adventure activities were invented in New Zealand and the superb terrain, fresh air and vast open spaces make it a great destination for young ones. From farm adventures to activities such as horseback riding, there are plenty of ways to enjoy the scenic outdoors as a family.

New Year’s Day: is celebrated throughout New Zealand, but the real fun is on New Year’s Eve when a copious amount of drinking is followed by a one-minute countdown and lots of fireworks.
For such a small country, New Zealand has a massive amount of things to see and do. Its cities and towns are laid-back and generally uncongested, while the natural scenery is simply awesome. The South Island has the best of the outdoors with its huge mountains and adventure activities, yet the North Island sees the most visitors and has an equal amount to see and do.

New Zealand has seven international airports: Auckland, Wellington, Palmerston North and Hamilton in the North; and Christchurch, Dunedin and Queenstown in the South. Most international flights come into Auckland International Airport, although a growing number fly to Christchurch. Air New Zealand is the national carrier and caters to most flights serving New Zealand alongside Qantas Airways.
