Artis Zoo
The Artis Zoo is one of Amsterdam's oldest and best attractions, dating from the 1830s and housing over 6,000 animals. The zoo is very well laid out, with outside animal enclosures, a nocturnal house and a large aquarium. Also on site is a zoological and geological museum.

Antiques Fair: held at Dam Square at New Church (Nieuwe Kerk) and one of Amsterdam's most endearing landmarks and attractions, the annual Antiques Fair is a favourite event for many of Amsterdam's residents. The event is also attended by a growing number of overseas visitors.

Artis Zoo
A favourite with children, Artis Zoo is an established Amsterdam attraction that has been around since the early 19th century and features an array of indigenous and exotic beasts in settings reminiscent of their natural habitats. There are literally thousands of animals here as well as an aquarium and a nocturnal house. If it's a wet day, you can still enjoy the zoological and geological museums which are also on site.

Located to the southwest of Amsterdam, Schiphol International Airport is a major world airport and a modern facility. Flights arrive from destinations the world over with some major airlines, including KLM, British Airways, Continental, Thai Airways, and easyJet among numerous others, operating flights from here. The airport serves millions of passengers every year through its single terminal and offers cheap transatlantic flights aboard national carriers as well as flights to destinations throughout Europe aboard low-cost carriers.

Business hours in Amsterdam are fairly relaxed, typically from 09:00 to 18:00, Tuesday to Friday, with most businesses being closed on Monday mornings and at weekends. Department stores also follow this weekday trend, although late night shopping can be had on Thursday evenings.
