Location is good if you want to be near the historic center - if not you'll be somehow far of the center. No shops. Nice (really) desertic avenue. A big tourist group compound. Sedona is next door. The Swan is cleaner, better and the staff smilier than it used to be. They change the breakfast room which was a sovietic underground dim hole for a really pleasant one and quality improved too. Beware that not all standards rooms are the same but a great deal for the price. Taxis here are very ill mannered so I recommend to go out of the hotel and find a pousse-pousse on a bicycle (cheap and they ...

The location is great to explore Mandaly. Everything is nice with a very attentive staff. Only the prices for additional services and the hotel bar are high.

Since Mandalay itself is not a very interesting city but a perfect base to explore the surroundings, the location was not that important.
The hotel was nicely small scale and there a very pleasant open air restaurant with a traditional puppet show, excellent for children.
Good family hotel with very spacious rooms and helpful and friendly staff. I can recommend it to families with small children. There is a nice pool and small playground.
