"Hotel couldn't be more convenient for the airport ferry - don't bother with any pre-booked arrangements - just go to the airport ferry jetty and get on the next boat with the locals. Ferry costs US$1 or 10 Ruffiah. Hotel entrance just over the road from the ferry pier. Hotel reception excellent and staff friendly and helpful. Room (ground floor) was ok - clean, but a little dated (and a little musty!), although full of character! Trends restaurant good value for dinner and breakfast was fairly good. There's not much choice in Male and this hotel is OK for a night or two - just don't expect the 5-star, artificial and antiseptic, quality of some of the resort islands! Not the largest of rooms - furnishings dated but comfortable and clean. Tea/Coffee making provided.
Bathroom ok - small bath with shower - hairdryer. Hot water - hit & miss! Room smelt a little musty. Generally very good although the room could have done with a squirt of air freshener! Only stayed one night - hotel doesn't have leisure facilities. Reception area large with plenty of comfortable seating in a refined atmosphere.
Reception staff and concierge very friendly and helpful. Couldn't be bettered for the airport ferry service. Literally just over the road from the airport ferry jetty.
Trends Garden restaurant has a good menu at reasonable prices. Food quality was good and service acceptable. Although not on the drinks menu, beer was available if requested. This area of Male is fairly busy, but noise l"
