Spent four nights in Fresco Hotel in late Sep 2008. Haven't stayed at any other Male' hotels so can't rate against them, but Fresco is clean, comfortable and the staff are very friendy. The rooftop restaurant has good views across the town and is a good place to escape from the hassle of the streets. Food is basic but not bad (there's a very good fish curry on the menu). Fresco is across the other side of the island from the airport ferry pier but it's all relative - five minutes in a taxi or 15/20 minute walk. Hotel is basic but functional. Significantly cheaper than some other hotels for an overnight stay. Its okay if you are spending only a few hours in Male City before taking your seaplane flight to your resort the next day. You get a nice view of the city at the rooftop restaurant.

Hotel also has wifi which worked just fine.
