We had chosen the deluxe room - excellent value for money. Water sports center is exceptional with extremely friendly local instructor which will care for you having lots of fun. However the diving center absolutely insists on the check dive and refuses to rent tanks & leads to the experienced divers even for a fun dive from the shore. Bizarre... Therefore we didn't use their services at all and did a marvellous liveaboard / diving cruise instead....

Really nice place to stay. Only negative was the evening meal starting at 1915hrs. Fine for us but we have 6 and 4 year old kids and it was too late for them. We were HB so had lunch instead of dinner, then had dinner earlier at one of the bars.

I stay in the water villa, the best room in this hotel. All the views and facilities are terrific. I really enjoy my honeymoon here. The excursion programs are also quite good. The service is not stable, depending on the person who serve you. Overall, I enjoy bandos quite a lot. always clean and the huge outdoor bathroom was very photogenic, we did not use the jacuzzi though (too hot). A bit annoying to have to hire everything including the pool table. Gym was great, restaurant was nice if you can get a table under the fan as it can be hot and humid at night. Buy all your water and drinks during the happy hour for the next day. Hassan in the restaurant and Hassan in the bar were great, they made up for some of the other more laid back and service deficient staff. buffet was changed a lot, I liked the cooking stations, however not always a veggie choice on offer at them. After a night flight the closeness tot he airport was a plus. However you see a lot of islands from Bandos so you will not feel completely isolated.

A very nice resort, we stayed at the beach villa it was lovely.We had our very own Jacuzzi in the backyard attached to the bathroom.Over all experience was great just one bad one was at our arrival at the hotel that we had to wait for 3 hours to get our room i do agree that we arrived earlier then the check in timings but could not help that as the flight timings were like that .Only if we knew earlier we would have been mentally prepared.Its not easy to get off from an over night flight and then wait for another 3 hours on a sofa.Do double check if you might arrive before the check in time (14:00).Other wise worth the stay.We loved it.
Children should have a seperate pool as there were a lot of them.Due to the volume of kids it was overly noisy and felt like a play area for kids .

The double story beach villa was perfect and we were lucky to get one of the ones closest to the sea. Some are further back and much less private. Memories of a chilled bottle of south african white wine consumed during the happy hour on the pier with amazing sunsets will remain some of the fondest of our holiday. As vegetarians we were happy with the choice of food available on the half board deal however you may get bored if you are staying more than a week. Being on the island and eating a lot we also got good use out of the well equiped gym. However you need to pay for all raquet sports/pool table and equipment so if you have your own raquets bring them. Be careful of the tide with leaving bags on the small beach, I returned to find my camera submerged after spending two hours snorkling! Bandos has so many sharks (white and balck tip) that you will become immune to seeing them and close encounters with them remain some of our more exciting memories.
Overall Bandos is an island that I would definetly recommend for those who like a larger island and do not need all the staff to be calling you by your name.

Great for family. 15 minutes speed boat ride from Male airport. Choose the deluxe type room as it is spacious, has a living hall & with connecting door. House reef is wonderful - great for snorkelling. Water is clear and calm, lots of fishes to admire, even in 2 feet depth! Get a book/card on "Fish of the Maldives". I bought a copy from Male Airport (author - Andrea Ghisotti) and we had lots of fun identifying many types of colourful fishes found at House Reef. room spacious and with living area. staff at restaurants are friendly and courteous. a good spread of buffet.
only 15 minutes by speed boat. great from my kids who will get sea sick if the ride is longer and at choppy sea. speed boat ride is on time and efficient.

We were very happy with Bandos resort. We arrived late at night and someone from the hotel was waiting for us at the airport for transport to the island. We were greeted at the island with a nice drink and a friendly staff. We were travelling with our two children (ages 5 and 7) and the resort was great for kids. There are two swimming pools and a club with pool tables, badmitton, foozball, etc... I would stongly recommend bringing your own snorkling equipment - even if you don't think you will use it...you will! The room was average- but as we were travelling with our children we were happy with it because of the size. There were two twin size beds and a king size bed. The room and bathroom were both very large- just could maybe use a little updating. We had a nice little patio outside of our room with two comfortable chairs- which we relaxed in every night. One other tip- Sundowners has happy hour every night until 6:30. All drinks are 25% off. We usually spent our time before dinner at Sundowners enjoying a cocktail while the kids watched all of the sharks coming in for their evening meal...and the view of the sunset is fantastic. I can't say enough about how friendly and helpful the staff was- can't wait to go back!

It is a lovely place to stay either for snorkelling or diving. We saw fantastic fishes, turtles, sharkes of any sizes...when snorkelling in front of the beach ! incredible !
People were very friendly. Excellent dive sites and very professionnal dive shop.

The resort was wonderful. The deluxe room was great for our family of 3. The beaches, service and Sundown restaurant were all great. Additionally, the child care was fantastic. Our 10 month old had a great time playing in the Kids Club and the staff did a great job with him!

It was my honey moon trip i would highly recomend it to others. One tip: don't try to vist the Male city, i didn't like the staring habit of the people there, however the Bandos island itself was great facilities exceeding expectations.

We had a great holiday and would recommend this lovely resort. Very family friendly but without the feel of an over run playground!! Kids Club is convenient and free but no organised activities; children have to be good at either watching telly or making their own entertainment. Our junior suite was in good location and had loads of room for an extra bed. It was kept spotless everyday and had an endless supply of clean bath and beach towels. Some noise from adjacent suite as they have linked doors. Would advise an early trip in your stay to Male to stock up on snacks / soft drinks as resort prices are expensive and have 10% service added to everything!! Food was very good and varied. Even our fussy 7 seven year old was happy!! Good transfer service to / from Male and daily access to good diving from the dive centre; snorkelling is fab around the lagoon / house reef. Everything we needed was there. Very well maintained and clean. Daily room service and fresh towels / bedding every day. Staff professional and polite. Always available and happy to help. Kids club free and available all day. However, no organised activities and staff only supervise children. Babysitting available at reasonable rates. Children pool adjacent to main pool. Busiest place in resort.
Near enough to Male for quick transfer but far enough away to give sense of being away from it all.

The jacuzzi beach villas are fantastic. Very spacious and cleaned spotlessly by the hotel staff every day. Wide choice at the buffet and the restaurants were excellent. Loved sitting outside watching the Black Tip Reef Sharks swim past whilst eating. Very professionally run dive centre with a choice of 2 tank dives in the morning and 1 in the afternoon. Also the possibility of night diving. No extra charge for Nitrox. Very relaxed resort in beautiful surroundings

A beautiful isalnd, with perfect facilites for children in particular. Staff were very friendly and ameniable. You should be aware that there are baby sharks in the waters close by to the beach.
