If you want an excellent golf course set amidst dramatic jungle mountain scenery, the option of rigorous treks or strolls around the expansive landscaped gardens, this isolated retreat near the Kalimantan border is perfect. There are however some hidden surprises which are not obvious from hotel description. Firstly the only meals available are organic / vegetarian. The club rooms where we stayed do not have ensuite bathrooms - just a toilet behind a curtain with a sink. Rooms are cramped without a/c and there are no telephones or TV's. There is no bar - although a limited selection of wine and beer is available. No fizzy soft drinks available. The hotel is a 20 minute drive from the gate and can only be reached by 4x4. Hotel stall helpful and courteous.
