I have stayed in hundreds of hotels in over 60 countries. Promenade can be proud of its ABF buffet which easily beats those of even 5 star hotels!!!! If I really have to dig something negative was that key-card had to be re-programmed every day?!, but that was done with such a friendliness that it didn't bother either. While staying there, you should try their sumptuous lunch and dinner buffets, you won't regret! Superb location at the seaside promenade with local specialities restaurants nearby. The buffet breakfast was wonderful and we really appreciated the fact that it was served early as we had a very early flight. Unfortunately, the hotel front was being redecorated which meant that to prevent noise, we were put in the back of the hotel which didn't have a very good view of the waterfront.

we had a bit of a hold up at check in - thank heavens for Hotel travel for sorting it out for us. The hotel then upgraded us and we enjoyed our stay. great food - location within 100 metres of the main shops and across the road from the sea = would stay again

The staff at the Promenade were always friendly and helpful. The extra bed was delivered immediately after check-in and our room being allocated.
The breakfast buffet was excellent and the ingredients changed on a daily basis, providing an opportunity to experiment with some slightly unusual fare - prawn or squid sausages!Although the hotel is at one end of Kota Kinabalu, the town is not so big that it is not possible to walk everywhere.
We had a throughly enjoyable stay.

Nice & Clean room, nice bathroom as well. I got a low level sea view room and enjoy the nice sunset during our stay. Good location, shops, restaurants & night market are just near by.
But need some improvement on the rooms sound proof. Overall, it is a good place to stay and good for the value.

A nice clean hotel with friendly staff. A good selection of food at breakfast time. Evening meals are good value for your money. My one grumble is bar prices here, 20 MYR for a small can of beer.There is a nice little bar behind the hotel called "The Place" A large bottle of tiger beer costs less than 12 MYR. Should I return to KK I would certainly stay here again.

Staff in the reception are impolite in a subtle way so you can't do any thing about it, which made the stay less enjoyful. Travel agent in the lobby was however helpful and a plus for the hotel.

I booked two rooms and it would have been nice if the Hotel tried to put us in connecting rooms or on the same floor. We were checked on separate floor and I had to request for a change the next day. The hotel airport transfer was great. Extending the breakfast hour to 11am would be better. There was no tourist brochure as we arrived late and the tour booking desk was unattended.

Very client friendly hospitality provided by the staffs.
Very convenient location for shopping and meal.
Molds on the wall in bathroom and wash-basin.
No security box provided in the room.
Two lamps did not turn on due to fail to make (by moisture?) at switch and wall outlet.

Staff at Food and Beveages side is excellent, food is exceptionally good. However the staff at reseveration, reception, and cashier is at average to poor standard, we check in at 18:30 and our room is still not ready. We have booked for a non-smoking room with double bed, they arranged us to a smoking room after waiting for 45 mins which was smelling terrible then they agreed to changed us to a non-smoking room. Unfortunately it comes with twin beded non-smoking room, at the end we have to complain so hard and got upgrade to a Jr Suite and we were so tired. We have to say they do put thing right and the bed is very good.
