Although in general we enjoyed our stay, we have to say that the maintenance standard and cleanliness of the hotel is much worse than what we have found elsewhere in Asia and certainly not worth the 98 USD we paid. We would have expected a lot more for that amount of money.Bathroom old and quite shabby, not too clean also.
The room was quite big, but with very little furniture and therefore looked cold and unfriendly. Pool and garden are nice and perfect for relaxing and reading a book.Towles are provided and sufficient deck chairs available.
The bathrooms are old and not very clean, the rooms are big in size (at least delux room) but furnishing is very poor and rooms make a cold and unfriendly impression - like the waiting hall of a train station.
However, the hotel's garden is very very nice and the (saltwater-)pool also - overall a nice hotel for tranquillity and reading a good book in the lush greenery of the garden near the beach.
Talking about the beach, it's not for beeing there in the sun (no deck chairs) neither for swimming (too many jet ski and water quite dirty) - it's purely a watersport beach, but for this it does not matter which hotel you stay in.
Overall for 2 nights ok lah, but nothing to spend your honeymoon in.
Nice and helpfull staff. The hotel is near the beach (just separated by the garden). Furthermore, the nightmarket is right in front of the hotel at the street (perfect) and the very yummy foodcourt is just a 5 minute walk away. There you can eat very nice food for very little money. We only had beakfast which was ok for 2 days - fresh fruit, toast, fresh eggs etc. for the european taste are available. The cleanliness could be better, especially in the bathroom.
Unless you have a 7 head local family in the room next to you where the kids will never be quiet, the rooms are quiet and due to the garden also the motor sport activities at the beach don't bother too much. Clean saltwater pool, not too big but ok to refresh. Nice garden, natural shade from the pine trees, very pleasant to relax. Enough deck chairs and towels available.

The rooms are a bit tired looking - overall the Lone Pine is in need of an upgrade. The pool is good but it closes quite early so if you want an evening swim you need to get in before 8.00pm. The restaurant is quite expensive - go to the hawkers down the road for much better value for money.

The was a nice hotel although the buildings were a bit older than others in the area. Good value for being on the beach in Batu Ferringhi and right in the middle of the town. There was a bus stop and taxi rank right over the road and the nightmarket was also out the front. The staff were very helpful too. The reception was being renovated but they had a temporary one set up out the front and it was perfectly suitable, they also tried to minimise the inconvenience to the guests.
The only negative was the constant hassling of the locals trying to get you to do watersports or horseriding. They just sat in front of the hotel on the beach and everytime you practically looked towards the beach they were onto you. However I don't think this is only at this hotel I think it is a general issue at Batu Ferringhi, they are just trying to make a living.

Excellent location with lovely peaceful and tranquil garden area. The rooms are slightly old with bathrooms that need some upgrading. We stayed in 313. There was a shortage of loungers, and the metal chairs in the Bungalow need to be throw away and replaced with wicker chairs

This hotel has trouble with suppling hot water in the shower, it is difficult for the 2nd person to take a shower right after the 1st one, the hot water will run out very soon, if you want to wash your hair and take a slow shower,you have to wait at least 1 hour after the 1st person finished. Also, the room is not soundproof, you can hear people talking in the next room. But the amophere is good and the staff are very friendly.
