Rated #25 for all Penang hotels
Except the location of the hotel which was in a rather congested area, the hotel otherwise was quite good and was worth the money paid. Staff were also ver curteous and friendly....

The corridor and room stank so that you could hardly breath unless you turned on the aircon which made so much noise you couldn't sleep and had a broken temperature control so was too cold when turned on. The shower fitting in the bathroom was broken and the water was tepid at night( I arrived at 11pm) so no hot shower on arrival. The carpet in the room was stained as were the sheets on the bed. We had booked a double superior room with king size bed and were given a scruffy little twin room. After complaining as we had pre-paid we were moved to the described scruffy smelly room with a standard double bed. They do not provide any complementary bottle of water and do not sell it in the hotel so if you arrive on a late flight you end up walking the street to find somewhere to buy some water...... Breakfast is disgraceful.....bread with one bowl of butter and one bowl of red jam with a single knife used by everyone and undrinkable coffee. Basically..avoid this place like the plague...they charged us USD 58 for a night of this...when you compare it to the many good clean guest houses available in Penang at a fraction of the price...it is a total rip off.
