Rated #15 for all Penang hotels
Now, this is a very good choice we made. Everything was more than we expected, even though we knew what to expect from a 4-star hotel. Very large room, we did not feel cramped at all. Very helpful personnel, and always with a smile. An excellent location from which to visit the very best of colonial Georgetown, and within easy walking distance to one of the very best Chinatowns we've visited. Beats the City Bayview of Singapore by a mile. We will recommend it to everybody....

Have stayed here before many times but this time I found the service and standard not as good as before. Maybe they need to catch up with other 4 star hotels these days.

We didn't get to use the Lounge room of the junior suite coz the bedroom was already very spacious. There was strong wind blowing when we arrived that the window made a loud whistling noise. But the staff attended & fixed it immediately. The aircond wasn't cool enough, though. We couldn't use the swimmingpool coz under repair, which was disappointed. I liked the breakfast best, especially the fresh Indian section outside..it was fantastic!!

I have stayed at the Georgetown Bayview on many occasions and have always been very pleased with the accommodation and service; this year was no exception.. Of course there are always those who will nit pick, but the hotel's pluses far outweigh any minor hitches. I would recommend this hotel to all and sundry and will return for my annual trip to Pilau Pinang next year.

From Singapore, drove there. Went with family members, enjoyed our stay very much, drove all over Geogetown, hotel in very convenient location. Checking in and out was no problem. Breakfast was OK. Will stay in this hotel again if we come to Penang again the next time.

We stayed on the non-smoking floor and had an excellent bay view. The breakfast choice was good, and I particularly enjoyed the freshly cooked roti. We did not use the restaurant as we went out each night.Front desk service was very variable. Sometimes good, other times such as when we required access to the safety deposit box we were continually ignored in favour of new people walking in.Also, the spa centre needs to make it clear on the advertisement that they operate on a cash only basis. I arrrived for my appointment, thinking I could pay by card, found I could not and had to post-pone the appointment as I had insufficient RM. Fortunately we were staying another day otherwise I would have missed out. The sports massage treatment was actually very good.

This was not a 4-star hotel. I paid too much and could not get out of my booking. The pillows had stains. The bed springs were broken and the mattress was of the poorest quality. The chair was broken. The bathtub had mildew and mold. What a disappointment.

I have stayed here a few times because it is convenient, but I do wish that the reception staff would looked pleased to see you and give a warm friendly smile. I have yet to see anyone smile there. Thet are so miserable. I mentioned this on my last review but obviously they never read it.

Nice hotel, central for the city and very helpful staff. Not for families with children however. Breakfast pretty average like most hotels in Asia. WiFi I nternet in room good and very reasonableand liked the seoerate shower cubicle. Can be a little noisy at times from the road and band in foyer, but overall would stay again if wanted to be in the town centre.

The staff members at the hotel were very friendly and helpful. The buffet breakfast had a large selection of hot and cold food, as well as tea, coffee, and juice. The food was delicious.
The hotel is near the water and within walking distance of many sights of interest, as well as a 20 minute walk from Komtar, where a city bus terminal is located. The tourist office is a 15 minute walk east of the hotel, on the road on the east side of Fort Cornwallis. Brochures with walking tours, sights to see and how to get there are freely given out there.
During my stay, although the hotel seemed very full, it was also very quiet.
I would certainly stay here again if I have the opportunity to return to Malaysia in the future!

This was a beautifully appointed, spacious hotel within a few minutes' walk to the old town. There was a taxi-stand right outside the front entry and we also appreciated the travel bureau inside the hotel so we could arrange tours. The staff was friendly and professional and we have no complaints whatsoever. We appreciated the morning paper and the breakfast was sumptuous. The sunset dinner in the revolving restaurant was well-worth indulging in, both for the banquet and the view (and the entertainment, a singer with karaoke back-up, was very good!) Highly recommended and we hope to visit again!

As there were few 'westerners' staying at the hotel my partner felt quite uncomfortable utilising the hotel's swimming pool wearing western swimwear. The only other women present were looking after their children and appeared to be almost fully dresssed in the pool and many strange looks were give. For this reason we would not stay here again.

This is one of the worst hotels I have stayed. Cockroaches and bugs all over the room. TV not working. Housekeeping never picked up calls. Unknown noises from toilet, Telephone malfunction, I had to plug off the telephone lines to stop the alarm tone in order to have a peaceful night.
