Alison Horner, United Kingdom "Tanjung Rhu is a luxurious hotel situated in a prime location on Langkawi island. The staff were, at all times, courteous, helpful and professional- nothing was too much trouble. There appears to be a desire to make your stay the best it can be.The pools were stunning, and the fresh fruit and cold flannels offered personally at your lounger were wonderful! The room was incredibly spacious and well appointed in a very natural decor. Indeed, in terms of furniture, landscaping etc, the environment has been considered carefully. Check in was undertaken in the room, which made the whole process feel very personal, and we were greeted by staff on arrival at both the airport and the resort. There is something for everyone at Tanjung Rhu,whether it's lazing by the pool or enjoying the beach and beautiful grounds. There is also a hair salon, spa and gym, plus tennis courts and non motorised water sports.Would I go again? definitely!" A HotelTravel.com Member, South Africa "We arrived at Langkawi airport late after a longhaul flight. The hotel car delivered us free of charge to the hotel very quickly which we appreciated v much. They also gave us a free transfer to our next hotel, The Datai at the end of our stay.
The hotel is on a beautiful beach with white sand. It has gorgeous pools as well. The hotel building is a bit disappointing, 4 floors high. It is not as romantic as its setting. The food was very good. There was free internet access in the readers lounge and 2 other stations. We loved the evening music in the lounge. The staff were v friendly. We stayed in a Cahaya garden room which had a wonderful bed, good view of the garden and a small balcony. The room itself was almost too spacious and a bit characterless.
Overall the staff were really excellent and could not have been better.
Our Cahaya garden room was almost too large with huge lounge / sleeping area. The decor was modern and quite stark, no decoration. The bathroom was large but not charming or inviting. The bed was very comfortable !
Delicious food. We especially loved the French / Mediterranean restaurant. We did nit try the Fine Dining.
Lovely exotic gardens, but not many colourful flowers. Hotel is in a very peaceful setting on a gorgeous private beach." | Room Type | Rate from | |
