Frangipani is very friendly and worth the price you are paying. I read several reviews on websites before we went there. The only bad things I could read about was: sunchair fighting, non-friendly staff, noise because of reconstruction and thin doors between the twin rooms. I can only confirm that the doors between the twin rooms are very thin and that you could hear the voices of people next door. We only had this room the last hours to take a shower after checking out but I could see the problem. We had a deluxe bungalow at the beach front with jacuzzi. Actually there are few of them that ha...

Terrible. Ants and other bugs crawling in our bed. Broken shower. When we asked staff to fix it, they pretended to fix it and ran out claiming they had, although they never brought any tools.... when our air conditioning broke, they put us in lower standard room than what we paid for, which was covered in mould and smelled funky!

We really liked the Frangipani hotel, so when we needed to spend one more night in Langkawi, we booked one more night two weeks later than our first stay (tree nights). It felt really good to be back again. However, we arrived at lunch time, very hungry, and wanted to have some lunch. But now, there were only two tables in shadow, and of course both of them already taken. When I wanted to move a table into the shadow, a woman working in the restaurant said I was not allowed. Now, they had decided that there should be no tables in the shadow bisides the swimming pool (rather large area). She was not friendly, and that gave me a bad feeling, took away the good feeling I just had. Eventually, we had our lunch on the sun beds.Good things with the Frangipani: Lots of sun beds (with matresses), quiet area, very few people on the beach, good restaurants nearby (Matahari restaurant (malay food in a very nice restaurant, low prices) on the main road just next to the road leading down to the hotel. Good swimming pools. Good selection for breakfast (best breakfast on our vacation).Could be improved: To high prices in the lunch bar. Friendlier staff in the lunch bar.

Very very expensive babysitting (they charge per child per hour - first hotel I have come across that does this) and my 3 year old son broke a coffee mug which we were charged 8RM for. Will not stay here again, nor will I recommend it to friends wanting to travel to Lang Kawi.

I've stayed at this resort previously (Dec 2006), with my two youngest children (boy aged 14 & girl aged 11 years). They enjoyed themselves so much, we decided to visit this resort again, together with my 82 year old mother and eldest son aged 21 years. This resort is obviously suitable for all ages. In Dec 2006 we stayed in a standard room/chalet - which was comfortable & more than adquate, if you don't intend spending all day and every day at the resort. On our first occassion (Dec 2006), we preferred exploring the Langkawai Island. On the second occasion (January 2007), we had booked Deluxe Seaview rooms/chalets. However,we were upgraded to the only two (2) Suites in the resort (which were inter-connecting). We were all very impressed. Although, we did have problem with one toilet - it was rectified promptly. The close proximity to the beach (for all room/chalets) is ideal. The sunsets, at this time of year (Dec - Jan), are absolutely superb - espeacially when you enjoy a Mai Tai (cocktail) at the bar. I found the staff very pleasant & obilging. The bar, pool & restaurant are ideally located to give a real feel of a tropical paradise. It is a picture/postcard resort without the pretentiousness. Hire a scooter (automatic) & explore the island. Visit Kuah town, ride the cable car to the top & swim in the 7 Wells - You'll have fun!!!! You can really enjoy Langkawai and a stay at this resort in Pantai Tengah. If you don't miind walking approx. 500m - 1 km to the

We only had this room the last hours to take a shower after checking out but I could see the problem. We had a deluxe bungalow at the beach front with jacuzzi. Actually there are few of them that has jacuzzi (most of them have shower). We payed only 10Euro/night extra to have our own private outdoor jacuzzi. It was really worth it. I could recommend to ask for this when booking! About the noise (summer 2006) I think they were careful and kind and tried to create as less noise as possible. I didn't even think about it. The food was very good and worth the price. For 4Euro you would get a big plate of pasta, burger or of course malaysian dishes. The Sumo burger (which contatins more food than a normal person could eat) is very tasty and big! In Europe you would have to pay 15 euro for this kind of burger at a restaurant. All food is actually a third of the price compared to Europe. The staff is very good and friendly. The reception were very helpful and helped us with our problems.

Overall this was a good casual holiday. The resort is in a great location with a short walk to many shops and restuarants. The resort had excellent access straight onto a nice beach area, with a outdoor pool, spa and bar. Generally the staff were very friendly however the service from reception at check in and check out was poor. We stayed in a Stardard room which was very basic, but always clean, with very thin walls between rooms. Nice for a casual get away.

We ordered a Deluxe Beach Front room and got one directly beside a very loud air conditioning. It was so noisy that we refused to take the room. The staff was very helpful and we could move into an exellent little house. Exactly what we expected! Thanks again for the wonderful vacation we could spend in the Frangipani resort.

I'd booked this resort following the previous comment of others customers, and i didn't regret It at all. The hotel is very well situated, not far from all the shops on a long road. The beach is exceptionnally clean, the swimming pool is clean too, the 2 jacuzzy are very good and pretty. The standard room is correct but i advise you to take an independant bungalow, because in standard room, you will hear everything in the contiguous room. The room cleaning is not good, we make some test and each time, the room was not completely cleaned or towels were forgotten. One time, the maid forget to close the door of the room !!!! Hopefully, nothing missed and the incident don't occured again. The Bar is very pretty, the restaurant is very very romantic by night, ask a table outside, with direct view on the beach (10 meters from the restaurant) Each night a live group play. Unfortunatly, it's all the week the same group but it was okay singers were not to bads and sing all type of international songs. For Those who take Suite, they have dedicated VIP table directly On the beach, for a honey moon, it's perfect. 1 another advise, don't book the Friday and Saturday, week-end in malaysia, because the hotel is overcrowed by local people with all they're children and swimming-pool, jacuzzy and beach are unpracticable. A solution is to dining outside this two days and find all day outside activities. Except during Friday and Saturday our stay was very very peaceful and we

An excellent stay at this resort, staff were so friendly and professional, nothing was too much for any of the staff, the room was spacious enough even with a extra bed in it. The location was fabulous, easy access for water sports or island hoping and the sunsets were spectacular, you could say that I had a great time here and I would recommend it to anyone.

When we came to the hotel we were met by a pretty arrogant guy receptionist. He didn´t looked at us during the whole 25 minutes we stood by the front desk. He did talk, but when he did it, he looked down in the computer. (I wonder why it almost took 30 minutes to get the room.) The most strangest thing about the hotel was the "sunchair fights". The hotel did have many guest during our stay. I estimate it to about 150 persons. But only about 35-40 sunchairs. So during the nights, guests did drag a sunchair to their bungalow or put a towel on it so nobody else got it the next morning. So every morning, even if you got up at 8, you couldn´t get a sunchair. This felt actually as a problem here.

I was quite pleased with my visit to Langkawi Village. The pool and beach front were absolutely beautiful and the restaurant and bar was great. They had live music and beach front BBQ's, which were quite enjoyable. The hotel was recently bought and will be in the process of refurbishing the rooms, which is somewhat needed. Overall, it was a great value and a pleasant place to stay. Furthermore, the services provided were very nice as well.

The resort was very cozy and yet had enough space between the bungalows for privacy. The location was excellent, not too isolated nor too busy. The staff were super kind and helpful in terms of finding good local restaurants and souvenier shops. Most of all we got to enjoy the clean beach spread right in front of the resort. We already have told people around us that if they ever went to Langkawi on a trip then they should definitely check in at Langkawi Village Resort!

Love that beach front location! Great Sunset view! Highly recommend for couples. The room is just a standard MOTEL facilities. which it can be a little better...Booked a double bed room, but it was just two twin bed pack together. But the pool and the restuarent area are better than expected. Overall, it was a great bargain!! Do not mind to come back again.
