Best , safe beach & sea swimming area along the strip. Superb,huge, well- maintained pool . Grounds well kept. Close to many good,cheap, local-style restaurants which we preferred to eating at the Hotel. Staff need to pay more attention to detail in servicing of rooms & common areas.Cactus Cafe opp. popular for breakfasts.

We have been to Holiday Villa several times over the past six years. However, this year it was more noticeable that the hotel is in need of extensive refurbishment. The rooms look very 'tired' now and generally worn, and the walkways in the grounds are quite dangerous with stones coming loose and tiles not replaced. We did not use the hotel facilities much, only the beach bar which is in an idyllic setting right on the beach. However, the service was terrible and they said they had no white wine one lunch time; it turned out that there was white wine, but they could not find a corkscrew to open it with! Despite all this, I would still recommend a stay at Holiday Villa as the hotel is situated immediately on the beach which is beautiful, and they have one of the largest swimming pools we have seen.

It was a really bad experience for me and my mum! I took my mum to Langkawi on my annual leaves hoping to have some nice quality time with her...and I think we'd have enjoyed it if we were to stay at a better hotel. On the day we arrived from Penang, we were told by hotel that we had to wait for our room...as it was taking more than 1/2 hour and my mum was hungry, we decided to get some lunch at the only restaurant available there. Guess what! It took them to deliver us our food more than one hour later from the moment we ordered...despite numerous reminders! What puzzled us was that the other guests which arrived later had actually got their food almost immediately. They sat next to us so we know. we didn't order any fancy lobster or sharkfin, instead we ordered a simple fried rice for myself and a fish with rice for my mum. I wondered if it was because the other guests were foreigners that we received this kind of discrimination.
