Rated #15 for all Langkawi hotels
The standard of accommodation here was fantastic for the price we paid and the breakfasts were excellent value for money with a wide range of food. The staff were very friendly and helpful, especially when our daughter had to be taken to hospital with a cut head. There were plenty of watersports to do and the beach was quiet and secluded. It is also in a good location for the cable car. The only thing we were disappointed in was the price of the food in the beach bar which was overpriced for simple western food e.g. beefburger and chips. Otherwise I couldn't fault it and will definitely return...

An excellent place to be in...the place is under renovation, so it will be even better...we noticed that we had not seen the staff of the hotel frequently, which makes you feel like you are home...I loved it and for the price you pay for it, I guess it is super good....and I recommend it to others...
The location is fabulous; you have many beaches options and can choose what you are in the mood of sitting...
One thing they must update their website and take the Tennis court out of it as we brought our Tennis rackets and then discovered that they have remioved the tennis courts long back...

The room is a sort of cabin. Not very spacious but big enough. The bathroom is simple. there are appr 120 cabins/houses. the hotellobby is basic. the beach is narrow but beautiful with good chairs under palmtrees. We saw beautiful black apes with yellow eyes. Nearby is a beautiful climb to the seven wells, a oriental village and a luxury yacht port with 6 good restaurants. In front of the Hotel is a scooter rental. 25 RM /day

The location was great for me because it is almost secluded and guests can have privacy. I said almost secluded since one part of the beach can be accessed by outsiders because that area is part of the public beach. This part is close to the area of Mutiara where it has the beacfront cabanas. Nonetheless, the other beach is the one really private and the one which guests use for swimming. The bonus here is that Mutiara is part of Langkawi's geoforest and has rainforest on one side and geofossils on the other side. The geofossils are millions of years old. The resort also has a travel desk which can arrange for activities for guests like island hopping. The resort is about 30 minutes away from Kua, which has lots of restaurants and shops, including duty free shops. Guests can go to Kuah by taxi, which wait at the gate of Mutiara. Oriental Village is within walking distance and here, you have the famed Langkawi cable car, some duty free shops, and restaurant. Berjaya Resort is adjacent to Mutiara, and in fact, the water challets of Berjaya can be seen from the beach. Mutiara is also within short driving distance to Seven Wells falls, considred as a geological wonder and about 20 minutes from the airport.
I was a bit disappointed though with the beach, which was described as having crystal clear water. Having gone to Bandos Island resort in Maldives, my expectations of the water was the same but it didnt turn out to be that. We went to Tanjung Rhu beach, which was described as the most beatiful beach in Langkawi, but i was also disappointed. The sand was whiter than Mutiara but the water was not as crystal clear as it is described. I guess visitors really have to go to other islands (like Pulau Payer) to be able to see the kind of water and marine life described in the brochures.
The resort has plenty of trees which invite losts of insects. They should do some fogging to reduce the insects. We were 3 in the family and we were given studio cabana for triple accommodation. Having paid for 3 people, i expected that towels, toiletries, bottles of water, etc would be for 3 people but they were for two people only. I had to ask for extra towel for the 3rd person.
Overall, it was a nice experience and stay at Mutiara. i will probably try to look for another place next time i go there to really see the kind of beach i really wanted to see.

this hotel suits for those families who love to play at the beach, the location is good, close to the cable car, and waterfalls, there are a few shops and restaurants outside of the hotel, easy to get drinking water and snacks, also some food, car rental also there, rental price is negotiable. Hotel room, furniture simple, drinking water only offer two bottles once we check in. If possible the toilet should be renovated, I would give this hotel only 2 stars, location 4 stars, rooms 3 stars, staff 3 stars, food 3 stars as well, anyway, we have lovely time at Langkawi. thanks God.

The location in proximity to the beach is excellent. But the location from City center etc is not that facilitating, (the same is is true for all the hotels in proximity to the beach, Langkasuka, Sheraton etc) but as Langkawi is a small town this is not that bad.
The breakfast is nice and offers variety. The staff is co-operative though staff handling fun activities / outdoor co-ordination should be more forthcoming.

Internet cafe has being provided in the hotel but we could not use it because of uninstalled Japanese environment on each PCs. We have tried to send a messages to our friends in Japan but we could not do it at the hotel. However all staff friendliness were very good.
