Chalet was great - felt like we were in the jungle and was great value in itself. Hotel did not provide any information in the room though -which would have helped us get orientated. Overall would thoroughly recommend this place - especially for quiet walks down the beach....

The Superior Chalet was a bit of a dissappointment after staying at the water chalets. The superior chalet definitely needs to be updated or renovated. The bathroom, fittings and room seemed a little dated...and worn out. Otherwise..the setting in the rainforest was great.

The view from the chalet was excellent..very private..and secluded. Staff were very helpful and courteous. The hotel is located in a very good location. Great private beach..and variety of restaurants and food to chose from. The recreational activities offered by the resort are great too. Would definitely consider visiting again! :)

nice view of the hote with novetel chalet , good service. If you like quiet place with good view fo rholiday relaxing, it's a best choice to stay. But if hoteltravel can gain a further best rate from the hotel, it's better. Because the hotel ownitself can offer an attractive package price. Anyway, I will choose this hotel again if I come to Langkawi again in the future.

It is like staying at a forest lodge and at the same time at a beach resort. A unique experience. Each chalet is an individual accomodation built like a Malay house. We saw toucans, flying fox and plenty of birds and monkeys. Enjoyed swimming in the bay. Lots of sea sports - sail boats, kayaks, motor scooters. Treks to jurrasic islands and forest reserves. Just outside is the cable car which takes you to the top of the geo park - amazing. At the base of the cable car are lots of souvenier shops and budget cafes in case you want to save on the restaurants in the resort. However the restaurants and bars are quite reasonably priced and excellent value for money. Lots of families with kids of all ages. Since the resort is spread out, it involves a lot of walking up and down (though vehicles will be sent on request).

We really enjoyed our stay at the Berjaya Resort. The pool area is amazing...the landscaping around it is very beautiful and is designed so that you can either enjoy the sun or the shade. A small wading pool for the kids is great. The beach was private and had nice large wooden umbrellas for sitting under.
Our only complaint would be the food at the beachside/poolside areas. We felt like it was very plain, and not worth what we paid. The meals at the other restaurants at the resort were much better. We did like being able to go to the Oriental Village right down the road for a change of pace. The Loaf Bakery at the harbor (2km away) is something that you can't miss. It is not only a bakery, but a great restaurant. We had three wonderful meals there and would recommend it highly. The manager is very interested in the quality of the food and it shows.
The chalets need a little upgrading, but they worked great for what we wanted. The only down side was ours was located on a steep hill, so the walk up was quite hard. They do offer a shuttle to your room if you want, but you still have to climb the steps. If you need assitance in walking I would make sure that you get a chalet on the lower levels.

Good hotel, but beware of the room the hotel will give you : it's so extended that there is a shuttle to transport you beetween your room and the lobby. If your have the farest room, you have to choose beetween a 20mn walk or a shuttle (free of course and 24/24).
The restaurant is poor, and the prices are too expensives : a bottle of watter is sold in the hotel for 11RM, while it's sold 3RM in town...
Despites of these points, people are pleasent and smile. They're ready to serve you (but sometimes, you have to call few times to have to be done).
The chalet is really pretty and charming. Too bad that there is no seperation beetween the bathroom (where there is the WC) and the bedrooms...
Beach is ok, not great but not bad.
The pool is also Ok.
I'd give a 13/20 on this hotel.

We booked a premier chalet and the room was very nicely appointed, spacious and had a lovely sea view. The maid service was very good, especially considering the spread of the resort, with nice attention to detail, eg. flowers on pillows, chocolates in the room and changing mosquito repellent device each day. Would definitely recommend upgrading to a premier room as our friends had booked a deluxe room and, although clean, it was much smaller and dated.
Check-in and check-out service was fast and friendly. The shuttles from the main building to the chalets were very efficiently run – we hardly ever waited more than a couple of minutes, even when a conference was being held at the resort.
The only two criticisms we had were:
(a) during our stay we lost all power in our chalet 3 times and lost water supply once. Although each time this was rectified quite quickly, perhaps some better maintenance might have prevented this.
(b) the service in the lobby lounge, pool bar and Dayang café, although friendly, was very slow. For example, in the lobby lounge we waited on average 10-15 minutes after ordering a drink before it was served even when it wasn’t busy and in the pool bar waited 30 minutes for a cup coffee.
Would recommend this resort for a relaxing holiday.
