Carcosa Seri Negara is situated in beautifully landscaped gardens. It along with the Seri Negara mansions were built in traditional colonial style at the turn of the century as a residence for the Governor of the Malay States and his honoured guests. The Carcosa Seri Negara is considered to be the most historic colonial hotel in Kuala Lumpur. The hotel formally opened in 1989, following the stay of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip.
