The location is really convenient, close to monorail and large shopping malls in the district. It's just 2-minutes-walk to Alor Street which is famous for food, though I didn't find the food there really nice after trying... However the bedcover in the room is a bit dirty and the bathroom look a bit depreciated... maybe we shouldn't demand too much with this price right?

I chose this hotel cos I had quite a good experience when I stayed there about 4 years back (when it was still Allson Genesis). Unfortunately, standards have dropped. The safe was spoilt but it wasn't a major problem since we were only there for a night. Can't say the same if we were there longer. Breakfast was a huge dissapointment given the very limited range (we weren't expecting a feast but it was really pathetic). A bare basic hotel, good enough for a night or two. But with so many similarly priced and much newer hotels just steps away, it's not the best deal.

A faded crumbling hotel surviving on past glories. The room was of a good size and that's the only positive comment ! The furnishings were miserable, safety deposit box broken, curious electrical wiring, old bathroom, terrible breakfast, the staff rather offhand. Not recommended

Front desk personnel should smile a bit and be a bit more courteous.
House keeping respond time have improved compare to a few months back.
Again, never, never and never utilise the taxi service right in front of the hotel.
They are a rip-off and just want to earn a few quick bucks. Just walk up or down the road a bit and hail a taxi that uses the meter. You might have to try a few before one that will finally agree to use it. There are still some that are honest, only if you are patient enough to wait.
Otherwise walk to the Bukit Bintang monorail which is just about 5 minutes walk, from there you could go anywhere with no hassles.

1. Room: Clean, small but enough for us. Nothing to see with the windows view.
2. Breakfast: Some delicious food but there was no many choices for your meals.
3. Service: Staffs working with no feeling, poor friendly behavior. But they will answer all your needs. Room services are better.
4. Location: Not too far from Bukit Bintang walking center (400m). Next to KL HOP ON HOP OFF No.7 (very nice special Bus for travelers).
Conclusion:It will be rating better at half price or 70% of the charging price.

The carpet in my room was very dirty, the noise level was awful. At 4 am there was a noise from a drilling mashine until 7 am, couldn't sleep at all. Power shortage at morning.
I asked for a company invoice but the concierge gave me an stupid Answer: " Sorry we can not give you an Invoice, becaurse you paid with Creditcard "
The Breakfest was okay, but in the room there was not even a little bottle of water !!!
All in all, i would not stay in that hotel anymore.

The hotel has good location to all amenities and room size is good. however, the room that I stayed is in need of renovation and the sheet and blanket were dirty with blood stains. Toilet amenities were poor and only one roll of toilet paper for family of 3. Bath towel had strange smell and the bathroom was dirty. The exhaust fan was half hanging on the bathroom ceiling. FO staff was helpful. Called housekeeping on second night a few times and asked for extra towel and toilet paper and only delivered after 2 hours with 3 follow up calls as no one answered the phone and eventualy had to call Reception.
I will not return to this hotel unless they have improved the room condition and hygiene standards.

When we checked in, we were given a room on the 5th floor which was very run down and smelly. Complained to the duty manager. The response was unfriendly and arrogant. We were given a floor on the 17th floor and the room was much better condition. But the TV remote controller was not working and there was no hair dryer. We called the housekeeping from 6:00 pm until 8:00 om but nobody answered. We gave up until we met one of the foreign housekeeing staff that was on the 7th floor and we seeked his help. He told us that all the staff could be on a break. Unbelievable! But he was very kind enough to help us with the TV remote controller and the hairdryer. That was the only positive experience we had with the hotel.

Rooms were great (a little run down - but nothing a little bit of maintenance would fix). Breakfast was substantial and tour desk was very helpful.
Location was good to shopping centres and good food. We walked from the hotel to the KL tower which took about 10 minutes... China town is also walking distance from the hotel.
Mum left her travel pouch in the safe when we checked out and remembered when we arrived in Johor Bahru, Allson Genesis was very helpful in returning the travel pouch to mum sending one of their employees down to personally deliver! Good location. Walking distance to the shopping and dining area. Good for budget conscious travelers. With the low room rates thus expected the breakfast offered to be the basics but still did'nt mind it, the point is I was in Malaysia.
Just the right size. I was not expecting a BIG room as I knew I was on a low cost room rate. Just right to get a good nights sleep. The Jacuzzi and gym were not much in good condition and cramped but still at least it has one.
lets just say they need to smile more or is it that I was also Asian.
Poor choice in breakfast choices. Even on a budget they could have offered other choices that were still within their cost. Room was clean. Hallway was clean. Lobby was clean. Gym, jacuzzi area not much. did not see any garden nor used the hotel lobby public areas. Near the shopping and dining area, what more can I say. easy access to all public transport. cheap rate. dont mind the food. What do you excpect from a cheap room rate a lavish food offering?

I chose the hotel based on its name. I had previously had good stays at the Allson hotel in Singapore and assumed this hotel would be similar. Instead the staff were scruffy, the reception area was shabby and the breakfast each day was tasteless and the same every day. I went to their spa to have a massage. The manager immediately explained the various services on offer. I found that extremely offensive. The spa is blatantly a front for a brothel.

We were generally pleased with our overnight stay at the hotel. Size of the standard room and bathtub was ok but I think for the westerners, they may find it small for them.Bedsheets and towels were also ok. The location is superb as it is within walking distance to Bkt Bintang monorail station (about 10 mins walk), the many shops, restaurants and facilities there. The room was small though adequate for one, clean and equipped with a safe and water boiler with tea, coffee and sugar sachets. There is an empty fridge and no bottled drinking water. Staff and reception are not all that friendly and response times to requests could have been quicker e.g. reception desk sometimes takes ages to answer a phone call from your room. Breakfast vouchers are written up in batches and are only made available the next morning at the reception desk on request. So u have to request your vouchers at reception every morning before breakfast. Breakfast is simple with fried noodles/rice or porridge, bread, butter, jam and fruit platter (usually watermelon and orange slices) and the small cafe tends to be crowded after 9am to 10am. The cafe tends to be very hot with glare from the direct morning sun shining through the large side glass windows. Not a comfortable place to have breakfast. The best part about the hotel is still the location.

I would have rated this hotel better however, I was disappointed by one of the front desk emploee or employer by the way he acted. I requested for a connecting room or rooms that are next to each other as i had my young children with me however, the way and language Mr.Jonathan used in response to this was very unprofessional which I think ought not to be used by any front desk operator/employee as he respresents the reputation/image of the hotel. He did not have any consideration what so ever, when asked whom I should speak to he just turned to me and said you can take my name and if you want my id number i can give it to and you can speak to whoever you want. I had stayed in the hotel a few days prior to this day and the staff were wonderful and very professional. Pls. educate the young man and teach him some manners.

I was not expecting a fancy hotel cosidering the value of money that I paid for this hotel. However, I must say the reception staffs are not very friendly, one of them in fact was quite rude. They were not very helpful with the luggage, I had to pick up every bags with my hands to the room and also when I checked out. The room is so small, the only good thing about is the location is very good. Only minutes walk to the food center, train station of Bukit Bintang. So I'm thinking this is an overpriced hotel.

I requested a single room but I stayed in a double room as other non-smoking rooms weren't available. That was good for me. The room, however had a few problems. The ketle broke and the toilet clogged within two days! The room was cold so I requested an extra blanket but the hotel doesn't provide any extra blankets, which made me really surprised! The room is a bit small for a superior room but it is clean and nice when we first entered into the room. Except the hair dryer is spolit but they have provide us with another one within one hour after we have informed them. The hotel was located near quite a lot of shopping centres in Bukit Bintang, which is very convenient to shop. Behind the hotel, at Jalan Alor, you can get quite nice food. On the whole the hotel is quite a good bargain if you want to shop in KL. Except there are only four types of food for breakfast but the taste is quite ok if you are not particular about food. It is consider good for a 3-star hotel.

The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful - the front desk, tour assistance desk, and maintenance staff especially. The rooms were lovely, well kept and comfortable. The only downside I noticed is that the hotel only has two non-smoking floors. I felt very lucky to get a room on one of them.

The television set and remote control is a great disappointment. It is greatly inconvenient to use the remote control. The remote control is supposed to be convenience gadget but being chained means it has lost its purpoe. The television is old and reception to certain channel is not clear. Low price hotel in excellent location. Right near BB Plaza, Bintang Walk etc. Highly recommended for anyone who wants a clean hotel in a great area. The breakfast is not up to much but when I travel I aim to eat out as much as possible anyway. Staff were a bit slow but not too bad overall. The first time I stayed here I was not hugely impressed but the second time was during the Forumla One and I really appreciated the low price. No minibar though. Do not use the taxis outside, they will not use the meter. Walk up to BB Plaza and go to the Taxi rank, they will use the meter. You will save 60%. If you are on a budget then this hotel is great value for money and relatively good standards. Location is excellent.

The only thing I like is that it's cheap but two things I really dislike: 1. The low quality key/room card 2. Unprofessional Reception Staff (lady - trainee) inlcuding one of the Senior staff (Black Jacket).I came to the hotel around 1.40pm and my room was not ready and the staff explained that check in time is at 2pm. She asked me to walk around first and the room will be ready around 2.30pm. So ok, I understand as I was slightly early. But when I came back at 2.30pm, the room was not ready yet. It was not even in the process of cleaning. So being totally tired from a long flight, I just waited at the lobby of the hotel.

'Interesting' and 'colourful' environs (i.e. dearth of tourists and occasional rats scuttling down the alleys by the food stalls) but safe, and the hotel itself very pleasant with friendly efficient staff. I would stay there again. Some might find the area a little down at heels, but a 5 minute walk gets you to more pristine surroundings better matched to the standard of the clean, bright hotel itself. A good experience.

The best thing about this hotel is the location. Very close to the shopping centers, monorail station, and the food street (Jalan Alor - best place for Chinese hawkers food in KL) is directly behind the hotel. The room and the service is just average. The room is not big and the housekeeping need to be called several time before they come to help you. But it's still ok as anyway hotels in Bukit Bintang area are quite expensive.

I most liked the location of the hotel. It was very close to the main street and shopping area. It had a very central location. On the other hand it think this hotel is not an ideal place for long stays. The room we stayed was not large enough. The open buffet breakfast was not continental as it was told. And the business center was far away from our expectations. But I can say that if you are planning to stay in KL just for a few days and if you are not for luxury, this hotel might be a good choice.

Allson Genesis is in a great location near the busy shopping area Bukit Bintang. It is a small, boutique hotel that works perfectly for an inexpensive, but clean base while visiting KL. The rooms are not large, but the layout makes optimum use of the space. I was there for the shopping and opted to spend my money in the shops instead of on accomodation, but this hotel more than fulfilled my needs. I would choose it again and recommend it to others.

Some of the staff, at the time were more concerned about going on holiday. And when i enquired about going to Bahru and the best way to get there they told me to catch a taxi because of the holidays. All in all the hotel was clean and tidy ok for a couple of days.
