This is a 100% Mulsim hotel. NO BAR!!! therefore no alcohol. NO internet connection. It is in Kelantan THE most conservative and fundamental of all the Malyasisan states. People here swim fully clothed, as befits the Muslim community.
They receive very few foreigners, I was the only one there when I stayed over 26th-31st Deceber. I do n't havea problem with this, but want to make it clear to other prospective visitors.
The breakfast was adequate, there was a limited choice of non-local food, and the dinner/evening meal menu was also adeqaute, with a few choices of Western food. The Local menu choices were in fact declcious. I am vegetarian, but even so ate well and intetrestingly, but then I've live in SE Asia for many years, and prefer SE Asian food anyway.
The staff were lovely, friendly and polite. My 'room' was a bungalow, the biggest problem was getting from there to the restuarant in a tropical monsoon downpour.
The room was well furnished, ( a superior room) and the housekooeing services were excellent.
I had an intial problem with the watersupply from the shower. No water at all from the hot tap. Eventually it was fixed but the water was still cold. I believe the hot water was reliant on sun energy) there was little sun, it being monsoon time.
Big TV...dreadful reception and no cable, so only local stuff, acouple of channels from Thailand, but mostly nothing worth watcing.
This is a lovley resort, close to THE most beautiful beach, miles of sea nad sand, all unspoilt. It appeared to me that a l ot of their business is through seminars, and 'membership' events, aimed very much at the local clientele
I loved it and would stay there again. However, if you are looking for loads of action, look elsewhere. Finally be prepared to dress modestly and reveer the conventions of the country.
