Since the Hotel attached to Duty Free Zone Shopping Mall, really saved our time/money, the Mall almost have everythings and we felt safe and secure and not worried about weather forecast though it was raining season. My family looking forward to stay at Eden again....

This is the second stay at the Zon Recency (formerly Eden Garden). We were again very happy with the standard of this Hotel. The Hotel is located in a Duty Free Zone (complex) in JB. It was great to be able to purchase liquor, cigarettes and chocolates at very good duty free prices in the shopping centre attached to the hotel - which we consumed during the rest of our holiday in Malaysia. The local street restaurants were excellent. The hotel is a little distant for downtown JB and other shopping Plaza/Malls, however nothing that a 10 minute Taxi ride couldn't sort out.

Positive: Room is clean and spacious, good view (remember to ask for room at high floor facing the sea). Breakfast is good. Connected to the Free Trade Zone shopping centre.
Negative: Sound proof level of room poor. Can hear people talking and baby crying in next room. Can also clearly hear the live singing at the lounge despite being at high floor. The singing stopped sometime after midnight. Other than the shopping centre, nothing much within walking distance of hotel. The floating restaurant and night hawker stalls mentioned in some websites are no longer there.
Overall would say its an ok experience considering the price.
