I picked this hotel because of the location. Was a little worried that it would be dingy & filled with smoke, but I was pleasantly surprised to find an extremely clean, comfortable, nice hotel that is 10x better than the name-brand Holiday Inn nearby that charges much more than Sintra. Great deal!

The hotel is located just 2 mins from Lisboa and within 5 mins from Senado Square. Very happening area. The hotel staff are helpful and resources. New Yaohan (supermarket) is just opposite the hotel. Food is very accessible... and safe area.

This hotel was excellent. My friend and I stayed in the standard twin room, and the size was excellent and the rooms were very warm and comfortable.
We ate dimsum in the chinese restaurant in the hotel twice because the price was good and the quality was really good. They have a breakfast buffet, but we never had it. Most of the staff spoke English and was helpful in pointing us in the right direction when we went out.
If you have the Lonely Planet Hong Kong & Macau guidebook, then the Macau walking tour starting point is just a few blocks from the hotel. The walking tour was really good btw. The Grand Lisboa hotel and casino is practically right across the street.
During our stay in HK and Macau, this was the best hotel we stayed in and we will definitely stay here again when we go back.

We stayed in the grand deluxe room on the no smoking floor and it was clean and spacious. The Filipino guard was very helpful in giving directions. The hotel is conveniently located. However,it would have been better if there is a shuttle pick up from and to the airport. What they have is a shuttle service from and to the ferry station. We were surprised to attend a 10:30 am mass said in Filipino at the St. Agustine Church which is just walking distance from the hotel. The ruins of St. Paul Church, the dancing fountain at the Wynn's Hotel and the view from the Macao Tower are simply amazing. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and will again book ourselves in the same hotel the next time around.

Our stay was great! The hotel was very startegic which made it easier for us to go around! The bell boys were very friendly and helpful! Speaking and understanding english was a challenge for them but they were very eager to help. We had a problemm with the refrigirator in our room, it was not functioning well, although, they changed it right away when we reported it. Over all, SINTRA was reaaly great! Good view! Nice people! We stayed at sintra hotel for 3 days and it was worth it,value for money,good location,free shuttle to the ferry,easy access. We requested for a king bed but we were booked for a twin and they gladly gave us a king size bed and we were lucky to have a good view in that room. It was a nice hotel. The noise level was alright although we can hear the bathroom shower from the other room but it was not too loud and it was tolerable. The buffet breakfast was excellent,good and a lot of choices. I'll be glad to come back and recommend this hotel,it's worth it!

I do not know if the option of a nonsomoking room was available. We were not asked when we checked in but our room smelled of cigarette.
The waiters/waitresses in the restaurant spoke very little English so communication was a problem. To me that was strange considering that they cater to tourists. The food was poor to average.
I wrote my comments on the comment sheet given to me when I checked out. The reception clerk, read it in front me, asked me about it and did not put it in the suggestion box. All the other comments from other guests, who may have written positive comments were placed in the box.
The location though is perfect.

Location of the hotel was truly excellent as it's on the center of everything and it's just walking distance to the tourist attractions. The Hotel Staff was also very helpful especially the Bellman who has been providing assistance to us with regard to directions on how to get to a specific place and travel tips. The room was really clean and bathroom amenities were excellent. It's good that the receptionist can converse in English. When taking the bus, note that most of the buses do not have English translation of the stop names and thus, it will be a little difficult to determine if you've already reached your stop unless you have counted the number of bus stops until you get to your destination. Overall, I was truly satisfied with my stay. Would recommend this to my friends and colleagues.

We arrived late at night but the check-in was smooth. They kept a non-smoking room for us as requested. This is the second time I stay in Sintra Hotel but the first time I book a room through hoteltravel.com. The reason I choose Sintra because of its safe and sound location -- within walking distance of everywhere you wish to go : shopping mall (senado square), restaurant, casino, etc. There is a shuttle bus service to and from ferry and department store.
Even it is an old hotel, they still keep it well maintained. Upon our check-in, the reception informed us that there is some renovation going on on 4th-5th floor and apologise for the noise and inconvenience. We didn't spend much time in the hotel during the day, however, at night, there was some faint smell of paint.
The staff is very helpful -- especially the bell boy who tried his best to get us a taxi at rush hour.

Location of the hotel to the city center is excellent, a 7 minutes walking proximity to the much visited Senadao Square was bonus for the family. My mum and 5 year old had no problem walking and finding their way around the area. Public transportation was only 1 minute from the hotel and the buses serve most major tourist sites. My stay in Sintra was comfortable and the 3 rooms on the same level gave the opportunity for the kids and grandma some interaction time.

We have booked two rooms ( standard ) in sintra hotel during our short start in Macau. The staffs is friendly and helpful, though it did took me awhile to comprehed the message ( in English ) they tried to bring across when we first check in at the reception counter.
As the hotel was under renovation, the aircon system wasn't very good. The rooms were filled with paint smell when we first step in, however, it gots slightly better when we activated the room ventilating system. One of the rooms TV set wasn't working, the recept was informed, however, no action was taken throughout our stay in the hotel. That's a minus point.
Interms of location, Sintra hotel is the best. It only tooks us about 15mins to walk to Senado centra and within a few steps we are able t to reach St. Paula Ruin. Macua Museum is just a small street across St. Paula Ruin. The hotel also provides feeder service to the ferry terminal and the New Yaohan.
You can also take buses from the bus stop just besides the hotel to Coloane and Taipa.
One last point. Do remember to bring extra cash, as the hotel requires you to place a deposit of $1000Hk upon check in

It is within an easy 10-minute walk from Senate Square, with the airport bus stop just around the corner. And about 5-min walk from Casino Lisboa and Wynn, among others. Having just come from a vacation in Hong Kong, the room felt superbly spacious - more like the ones we have back home in KL. I have absolutely no complains about this place.

The most noteworthy feature of the Sintra Hotel is its location. I would say, and on this merit alone I would say that our trip became easier and more efficient. Sintra's very central location would place anybody within walking distance of major activity areas - Senado Square, St. Paul's Ruins, Museu Macau, Red Market, Casino Lisboa, Wynn Casino, Mc Donald's(!) to name a few.
The superior room we stayed was very ample in terms of amenities and space - bathroom was clean and well-stocked on a daily basis and although it was quite a challenge to speak to the staff (who had very limited knowledge of english) all that we spoke to were quite eager to help.
My only concern with the Sintra was on the occasion that my wife and I ordered room service. Although the food was well prepared - we had to eat hunched over a very small and low coffee table.
Regardless of this, I would go back to Sintra ---maybe next year as I feel that this hotel actually exceeded my expectations of being a 3-Star hotel.

I think it's worth resting in Sintra where is just third-star hotel but it's similar to some fourth-star hotels. It's better than I expected. I checked-in after check-out from HK. I reached Macau by ferries. It's quite easy to reach the hotel coz there is shuttle bus service which share to some guests from Lisbua hotel. Most of hotels in Macau are big outside when I have a look at Sintra for the first time, I was quite surprised how small and old of its building is. It's different from the pic I've seen before. Anyway after I saw the rooms, it's quite big (same size as the 4-star hotel I stayed in Hong Kong.) The hotel is near Senado square, just 5 minute walk. I think Sintra looks better than Central ,or Metropole hotel where is settle around Senado. So if you looking for 3-star hotel where is not far from Senado,Ruin of St.Paul church, I recommend Sintra to be one of your choices. Our rooms are decorated in chinese furnished style as the Shanghai-Godfather period. Nothing disappionting when i spended one night there.

Hotel provides free bus service to and from hotel to ferry pier (from Hong Kong). Went to airport by public bus ($3.30 per person) only and the bus stop is just 2 minutes walk. The room is spacious and clean. The location is near to most of the tourist spots including Lisboa Hotel, the oldest casino and Senado Square. Travelling by cabs to other casinos / tourist spots not within walking distance is inexpensive as they are all not too far away. Easily accesible to bus routes including buses to airports. Free shuttle to Lisboa Hotel and Ferry Terminal (until 10.15 pm only). However, I find that food is a bit expensive on the restaurant at first floor of Sintra Hotel.

Surprised to see the room was quite big for standard one. Sintra is a very good location. Free shuttle bus to yeohao and ferry terminal. Casino Lisboa, Senoko Square and St Paul's ruins are just walking distance away. Nearby bus stops which bring you to Taipa easily. And if you like to visit Zhuhai(China City), bring along yr passport and hop on bus 3 (just outside hotel), it only takes you less than 30 mins to reach the custom, something like crossing from singapore to johore bahru. And to all shopping queens, there is a mega Esprit warehouse store just near the custom, so don't miss it.

It's value for money because of the location, which is walking distance from Largo do Senado and the historic center, has a bus stop around the corner, if you need to ride to other places, and has a free shuttle bus from the ferry terminal to hotel lisboa and hotel sintra. Therefore, you have easy access to the historic center and the casino area. Location, location, location. I think Hotel Sintra has one of the best locations in Macau. It is about 10 minutes away from Senado Square where most of the local shops are and near the ruins of St. Paul church and Macau Museum. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful in giving us directions to the places we wanted to go to (including what buses to take in case we didn't want to take a taxi). Hotel Sintra even offers free shuttle to the Hotel Lisboa and ferry terminal in case you want to go to Hong Kong. There are also several restaurants within the vicinity of Hotel Sintra in case you do not want to eat in the hotel and try something else. The buffet breakfast in the hotel is decent with sausages, dimsum, noodles and fruits. The room has all the basic necessities and is a big enough for 2 adults and 2 small kids. The bathroom has a hair dryer and a bathtub.

The hotel is very conveniently located near Hotel Lisboa and the Square. However, the hotel is somewhat aged and could do a re-furbishing.
