It is an excellent hotel with very nice, spacious & clean room. The Hotel staff are very friendly too and they even allow us to do late check out at 1p.m for 3 rooms since our flight depart at 4.55p.m. The only concern is one of my 3 rooms was having problem with the air-con. Fortunately it is end December whereby the weather is too cold that we do not need to switch on the air-con, therefore, it has no impact to us. The hotel location is quite a walking distance to the big casinos but there is free shuttle half hourly to these Casinos which therefore resolve our concern. There is even a small casino in the hotel at level 1 that my parents could stay late to play on the jackpot machine and come back to the hotel room themselves. My children & other family members fell in love with this hotel and has requested me to book this hotel again for our next trip to Macau. Royal Hotel Macau is indeed an excellent hotel that my family & I will always remember and will certainly come back to stay again next time. Will also recommend my friends to stay in this great hotel in Macau too!

I have stayed at this Hotel previously. I appreciate the hospitable, courteous staff at all levels. The location suits my needs. I have fond memories of my stay at the Hotel Royal. Very neat and tidy. Well presented making a warm and cosy feel. All facilities are well maintained and staff in all areas friendly and helpful. I found the service of staff at all levels excellent. Very courteous and diligent. Daily breakfast was well presented and food was of a high standard. As I enjoy walking I find the location ideal. Close to transport and many attractions of Macau. Hotel bus provides a very good service. Taxis passing regularly. Close to bus stops. Concierge facility very good. I really did not utilise tourist services as I had my own itinerary. I personally did not utilise entertainment facilities. However contacts advise me that facilities are highly rated by tourists and locals. Very well presented and a popular area for meeting people as a group or one on one basis.

My family & I had a good time at the hotel. The room is great although the wall is rather thin. The door could have been better so that it doen't slam loudly, can be pretty disturbing at night when others around slamming the doors. The food spread is pretty good, nothing fancy but enough to have a good breakfast.

Looked very old and classic hotel at the view from outside. However, this hotel has renovated a while ago and the rooms are almost brand new. Very clean and sophisticated furniture. If you are not interested in playing Casino or visiting there for business, highly recommended. Venetian or MGM can be good for Chinese tourist but too much for those business persons visiting Macau.

The hotel was well renovated, it was clean and the location was very good. What made our stay memorable was the friendliness and efficiency of the staff. I don't mind staying here again but it would be nicer if breakfast were included, some good hotels offer the same price with breakfast.

It was very difficult to fault anything during our stay at this hotel. The room (Premier Room, 15th Floor) was small yet comfortable, and it was clean and well appointed. all the fittings are new, bed sheets were very good quality high thread count cotton and were changed every day.The staff were first rate in all regards, from check-in, concierge, pool, houskeeping, and dining room. The inclusive American buffet breakfast was excellent. There is on-going renovation with some construction noise from 9am to 6pm, but being on the 15th floor we were not affected by it although some construction noise does travel through the aircondioning system. We had an infant and young child and ordinarily give them a bath at night, however there is no bath in the room, only a shower. But be were able to manage with having a shower only, so it wasn't really an issue for us. In summary, we wouldn't hesitate to stay here again and highly recommend this hotel.

Everything was great. Perfect service, a big room, great bathroom and a nice view over Macau. The Hotel is not on the "strip" though not far away from all the casinos and the shopping area. I really enjoyed my quiet stay there.

This is a five star hotel in what is described as an "out of the way" location. If you want to stay in a big casino hotel, try one of those. It will cost twice the price with a lower rating, the restaurant will cost much more - location, location, location. The Royal Hotel is closer to the sightseeing areas of interest: The Ruins of St. Paul, the Senado Square, and Guia lighthouse are all within walking distance. There is no airport shuttle, but a taxi to/from the airport will cost about 60-80 $HK depending on time of day and traffic. The hotel does have a free shuttle every 30 minutes to the casino area and to the HK ferry terminal. There were travel groups of 20-30 coming in or leaving 3 or 4 times a day, but for some reason my booking for a standard room (with king/queen bed request, if available) booked more than 2 months in advance was not upgrated to deluxe, but to premier!! and we stayed on the top floor (17), for the price of a standard room - about $US 56/day during the week. I'd stay there again.

I came out of the ferry terminal and just missed the shuttle bus in which I have to wait about half an hour for the next ride. It was not far from the ferry terminal and if I had known that, I will have taken a taxi and reach there in less than 10mins time wihch will only cost me HKD$15. Room is big but furnishings are old. However room is clean. Bed is a bit hard. Air con is weak and therefore air feel stiff. Wouldn't really stay again at this hotel as there are many new hotels with casinos coming up.

Definitely worth staying if you take the prremier room (rooms on 15/16 floors have recently refurbished). We were extremely pleased with the standard of the room and service of hotel staff. It's like paying 3 star prices for a 5 star room! Location is good enough - within walking distance to eating shops. Otherwise hotel shuttle takes you to places further away such as Sands Casino, Lisboa Hotel, etc. Will surely come back again.
