The bed size is too small for big guys. Disco at ground may cause some annoyance for hard-sleep person.

We had to wait about 30 minutes before the receptionist confirmed our booking. But it was the only unpleasant moment of our stay there. The staff was very friendly and ready to help, the food was superb, the room was a little bit shabby but quite clean and with everything that a travellers might need. The hotel is a bit far from the city centre but the shuttle bus runs until 10 in the evening.

Room overlooking the road was quite noisy.
Breakfast buffet was good.
Room and hotel in general was very clean.
The nightclub out the back of the hotel is good for younger travellers who want some nightlife.
A long walk into town, the road is being resurfaced so is dusty or muddy depending on the weather as of early May 2007.

Even though hotel staff were very friendly, when compare to other Novotel hotels in other cities, the Novotel at Vientianne is not really worth the money due to the following reasons:
- rooms appeared to be old & needed upgrading/refurnishing
- swimmimg pool too small
- gym equipments are some what out of date & old. With some didnt appear to be safe to use.
- need more varierty in the hotel restauarant.

The hotel is slightly out of the way but the excellent complimentary shuttle service makes up for it. Excellent breakfast buffet and friendly service
