The Inter City is perfectly located on the Mekong river and walking distance to shops and restaurants. The interior design of the building is amazing as it is filled with beautiful antiques and very tastefully decorated. the staff are some of the friendliest you could wish for and I would definately stay here again....

We stayed in a deluxe room. Overall iimpression was shabby chic. Would take very little effort to make truly outstanding, but I'd guess the owners are not resident!

The Inter City is a very nice hotel except for the incredibly loud disco noise at night from a club next door. That's why question 2 is difficult-the standard of the room was good, ie. large etc., except for the noise level.

Inter city Hotel offers an excellent value for money. The hotel is well kept, standard room was simple but had all the needed facilities: Wireless internet, TV, room service. The interior architectur of the hotel is beautiful. Staff are extremely pleasant and helpful. I can highly recommand this hotel to anyone planning to go to Vientiane.

There is a big ongoing effort to modernize the lobby area of the hotel and the the many artifacts and antiques certainly adds to its charm but they could all do with a really good dust ! The room was very clean and although the adjoining bathroom was old it all functioned and was also spotless. My only hunch was the drilling and hammering until 1.30am in the next building. It started again at 10.30pm the next night but didn't last as long. On the whole I think the hotel offers good value for money and the staff are extremely warm and friendly. It is ideally situated close to lots of F&B options.

We stayed in a deluxe room at the front of the hotel. It was beautifully furnished, very spacious and had a fabulous view of the night market, the Mekong and beyond. The hotel is quiet, furnished with interesting antique pieces and the staff were attentive and friendly. The breakfast was substantial. We highly recommend this hotel.

The rooms on the east side need soundproofing big time! But the hotel was clean and the staff friendly.

Try avoiding room 213. The window is facing another building and the bathroom window overlooks the kitchen. So, the smell in the room is awful. We can hear noises from outside the building and the guests walking above the room because the floorboards are loose. But the hotel is located near to restaurants, spas, eating stalls and shops and walking distance to the morning market and temples.

Lobby and all public areas are beautifully decorated with asian antiques and artifacts. I had paid a little extra for a deluxe room with a balcony, facing the Mekong. Room was attractive, clean and comfortable, as was the bathroom. Large sliding glass doors and windows allowed for plenty of light. My room did face the Mekong, and I had beautiful sunsets; but there is a busy street directly below (between the hotel and the Mekong), which made it noisy. And because I was on the second floor, I was right at the level of the telephone/electric wires hung from the telephone polls and street lights. Staff were all very nice. I'd definitely recommend it to others, though try to get higher up than the second floor (they were sold out, so I didn't have a choice).

After having been to Van Vieng, Luang Prabang and Pakse after having visited Vientiane, I must comit, that the personnel in Intercity hotel was absolutely competent, two women at the reception desk talked in a very good english and they were extremely engaged in helping us the get a room in Luang Prabang. Unfortunately, as in other cities, they charged too much for calls to Germany, although outside in internet cafes it costs nearly nothing. Of course, even I know, that phoning outside a hotel is expensive all over the world, but this must not be everywhere.

My daughter and I had a great stay at this hotel. We did have to move rooms three times as first room alocated was too noisy and close to street level. The second room we could only have for 4 nights before transfering to another room for the last night. oN returning to Vientiane we stayed one more night in a wonderful room on a high floor. The staff were great with my daughter too. In would definately stay here again.
