Lovely place but out of town. Complimentary transport to the town was infrequent and 'private' transport was $3/person - rip off! Many package tourist with own transport. Excellent pool and beautiful appearance. Not good if you wish to experience the old town by walking out the front door. Villa Santi (not the Resort) in the old town IS in the center of the town.

I thought my stay at Santi was a pleasant one. The rooms were excellent (spacious, clean, stylishly done) and we had a pool view. Hotel staff were helpful and responsive. Only issue was the hotel was a little far from town. Perhaps what Santi can do is to provide more frequent coach services to city centre. Saves everyone the problem of having to adhere to a rather strict bus schedule. But overall, good stay and I would recommended it to anyone looking for a nice resort hotel.

Good quality hotel set in excellent grounds with friendly, helpful staff. Only problem was the number of flies on the uncovered breakfast food. Would have no hesitation in recommending, only be careful at breakfast time!

Location right in the heart of LPQ is the reason for booking the hotel. The monks will pass the hotel every morning at 6.30 and you just have to go out of bed and see them collecting the alms.The night market is in walking distance just as many nearby excellent restaurants ( 3 Nagas, Mekong FishCafe , Apsara ) and all the life of Luang Prabang right in front of you. Villa Santi Resort is quite far out of town but much nicer . We came to Luang Prabang to feel the life of a Indochina Town of the fisties and therefor selected Villa Santi Hotel. When we were picked up at the airport the villa was declared full but we insisted to stay and refused beeing transferred to the resort. We did not miss the nicer rooms and pool of the resort,but if you prefer to have a more comfortable hotel you should stay there.
