Easter (Paska) is the most important holiday in Greece, celebrated with feasts of roasted lamb, processions and folk-dancing. On Good Friday colourful processions begin at the Orthodox churches and converge on the main squares in all villages, cities and towns. April 23 is the Feast of Agios Georgios (Saint George). The feast celebrates a knight who killed a dragon with celebrations all over the country.

May 1 is Labour Day and Flower Festival, celebrated by picnics in the country.
