This festival takes place on the night of November 5 and commemorates the capture and execution of Guy Fawkes, who attempted to blow up King James 1 and the Houses of Parliament in 1605 along with his co-conspirators. Mulled wine, food, the burning of an effigy and fireworks are all part of this fun family event and every town celebrates it.
