"I'm a graduate student on a budget who was looking to spend a few days in Tokyo after a conference. This hotel was perfect for what I wanted - literally 15 steps from the train station, and from there a very easy commute throughout all of Tokyo! Just one stop down the Saikyo line to the main Yamanote line (Ikebukuro) that circles the city. The room was small but clean and more than adequate! I spent most of my day away from the hotel sightseeing, after filling up on a great breakfast buffet - included in the price since I booked online ($75/night single). The staff was very helpful and knew a little English so that check-in and check-out went smoothly. As far as sightseeing advice/help, I would not count on the front desk but I was able to find maps and information at the bigger train stations (Ikebukuro and Shinjuku on the Yamanote line). This location was great, it was a snap to figure out how to get around the city. The hotel is literally 15 steps from the train station (Itabashi on the Saikyo line). From there, it's an easy connection to the main Yamanote line that goes around the city (one stop to Ikebukuro to transfer to the Yamanote line, from there, approx. 4 stops to Shinjuku - which connects you to almost all other train or subway lines - or 6 stops to Shibuya - for more connections, and you can also go to Ueno on the Yamanote line in the other direction from Ikebukuro). It was really nice to come back after a long day of touring the city and have the hotel"
