Great hotel and service, free shuttle to Kyoto Sta. Only complaint is the internet connection in our room was broken so they refunded our 1050yen but did not give us a new room.

Friendly and helpful staff. Excellent service. The rooms are bit dated as compared to Japanese standard but nice and clean. They have a shuttle service every 15 mins to Kyoto station but I always preffered to walk. Overall a nice place to stay.B'cause it requires a better look and re-design of the interior. About 10 years old to what one will expect & for me coming from a Tokyo hotel it all looked dated. I liked what I got and tried. However they should not charge for use of swimming pool & in any case I am used to better pools but again one must remember that it is Japan. Because the staff with their limited English is extremely helpful and will go out o their way to be of help. However it is bit intimadating to see so many of them in the gate and lobby wishing you as you come in. I woul prefer a more discreet approach. But maybe I guess it was for security as the hotel is known for weddings and I happen to see a Groom rolling in the lobby loor in a drunken state. food very nice, I treated a friend and paid cash in the hotel and the quality is very good. 100 yen coin operated system sounds absurd while sitting on bar stools in a tight place. Good for emergencies only. They should have a better system towards it. Mitsui Garden Tokyo was very convenient. Did not use but got a peep of the weding reception wherein the groom was drunk and rolling in the lobby. Taian was the day wehn I visited so was expecting weddings. It would have been nicer if it was closer to the Kyoto station. One with heavy baggage will find it difficult to catch the Haruka to Kansai in early mornings as there is no shuttle or taxi. I have taken a note of another hotel that is above the station where I will stay next time but I don't think your website has a tie-up with them. I did not mind what I saw as in any case it was covered for me by my contacts there. However it is not inconvenient unless early morning departures but I am sure i one asks the reception a taxi can be called.

Location was good. Although a bit of a walk from the train station, the free shuttle was useful. Room was kind of small, but expected in Japan. Room furnishings were nice though. Breakfast was ok at the Top of the World. Not spectacular. View was nice although I think it didn't go round in the morning. Service was very good. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
