Rated #2 for all Hakone hotels
Very Japanese hotel with good onsen. Slightly tatty rooms (though much bigger than Tokyo hotels), and I found it annoying that I could not have dinner in the hotel (because I had not prebooked). I was the only Westerner there, which I quite liked, although I towered above all the ladies in the onsen! Good breakfast with both Japanese and Western food. There was supposed to be a free shuttle bus to Hakone Yumoto railway station, which there isn't!...
