Close to the Termini, I didn't know what to expect having read other reviews on this site but I was more than pleasantly surprised, especially given the outward appearance of some other hotels which are more higly rated Maybe appearances can be deceptive? If I was being picky, I would have to say that the bread rolls at breakfast time were not exactly soft and were a little hollow. Other than that, I enjoyed the warm croissants and the cappuccino ( not awfully keen of the bitter coffee and we had a bit of a dirty look when we asked for cappuccino). Tea was ok mind. Ham, cheese and preser...

Room on the small size, but nice space in lobby for relaxing and using the internet (good connection). A short walk from the Rome Termini station where almost every bus goes as well as the A and B metro lines, so in this respect, a great location. From Termini, you can also catch the Leonardo Express train to FCO airport for 11 euros. Best of all, just down the block from the hotel, at Via Gaeta 21/23, we found a Filippino Restaurant with great atmosphere, delicious food, and good size portions at super price. .Be sure to check out- Kusina. Try their Pancit (noodle dish) and Calderetta (Pork with a spicy sauce). You can get 4 dishes with rice and drinks for approx. 30 euros.

The Windrose is very central to transport and tourist sites in Rome. Staff are friendly, rooms are nice ( a little noisy, as there is a great restaurant opposite, but you expect this in Rome). We would definately stay there again.

Ham, cheese and preserves fairly standard and a choice of two cereals. Several fresh fruit juices on offer, not freshly squeezed, but tasty nonetheless. Room was comfortable, towels changed on all three nights. Very clean.Shower fit for purpose. We had a room at the rear so some peaceful sleeps after the foot-slogging of the day. Loved Rome, literally an antiquity around every corner. Trevi, Spanish Steps and the Vatican all particularly beautiful but the monument on Piazza di Venezia takes the breath away. Get yourself a good street map. You'll find a good one for 4 euros near the Termini and the writing on it is big enough to be read in the evening too ( the print on the maps the Windrose provide is tiny but the lady on the front desk was particularly helpful in circling the places of interest, particularly as it was around 8pm when we arrived. Rome isn't overly expensive for dining out. La Famig
