Rimini International Airport (RMI), also known as Aeroporto Internazionale Federico Fellini, is located approximately seven kilometres from the city of Rimini. It services Rimini and San Marino with flights on scheduled airlines and major charter operators that arrive from points across Europe and other parts of the world as well.

Passenger services and facilities include eateries, duty-free shopping, tourist information, a bank and ATM, currency exchange and car hire options. Some of the discount airlines operate service to the Forli Airport (FRL), located approximately 55kms away.

Bus service, on route number nine, is available from outside the Arrivals area for the seven kilometre transfer to the city’s rail station. Taxis are also readily available.

Public transport in Rimini is provided by a city-operated bus service, called TRAM, linking Rimini’s urban area with the suburban and outlying areas in Rimini province. The route of interest to most visitors is the one that operates through the city centre and continues along the beachfront, and on to Bellariva, Marebello, Rivazzurra and Miramare. In all, there are 15 routes that comprise a network linking all corners of metropolitan Rimini, and all making a stop at the city’s rail station.

Coaches destined for more distant points, such as San Marino, Romagna, Cattolica, the Rimini airport, Savignano and Torriana, leave from the rail station as well. The Ferrovie Padane line operates from a station located approximately 100m from the rail station, and coaches depart from here for destinations in Valmarecchia and Montefeltro. Other private bus companies offer service that covers a wider area, including destinations such as Montegrimano Terme, Mercatino Conca, Montescudo and other points in the Valconca area.

In addition to the freedom provided by having a hired car, there are a number of bicycle hire operators located along the Rimini beachfront, typically associated with hotels and hostels. Rimini features more than 30kms of cycling paths.
