Situated on a hill outside Florence with unsurpassed views of the city, this structure is one of the finest examples of Tuscan Romanesque architecture, built between the 11^th and 13^th centuries.

Amerigo Vespucci Airport is served by many domestic and international flights with daily flights. The airport is just 4km north-west of Florence. Public Bus companies SITA and ATAF run a bus service between the airport and Santa Maria Novella Station.

Florence is a very safe city, but as with any city visitors are advised to use caution and common sense when they are traveling and should also be cognizant of surroundings. Also, keep control of your personal items. While waiting in line, keep your luggage close to your person, or put the luggage straps through your arm or one of your legs to keep control of your personal belongings.
