Florence is legendary for its romantic ambiance, beautiful landscapes, charming architectural gems and its great collection of art. In addition, Florence has some freshest produce in the region and the local vineyards produce some remarkable wines. Florence is also considered as the Renaissance capital of the world. Some of the most elaborate and grand religious structures in Europe are located in Florence including the famous Duomo of Florence, the intricately designed San Lorenzo and the grandiose Santa Maria Novella. Other noteworthy attractions include the Piazza della Signoria, which is a popular meeting place for tourists and local alike. The square has many various eye-catching statues including Palazzo Vecchio, the fountain of Neptune by Ammannati and the copy of Michelangelo’s David. The Uffizi is another one of the most famous museums in Florence and it houses masterworks by leggendary artists including Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo.

Florence casts a spell in the way that few cities can, perhaps because of its art or due to the views over the River Arno or maybe it’s the food and wine. Virtually unchanged since the 16th century it makes for a fascinating destination.
