Caserta is a small town located about thirty minutes north of Naples. Its most famous attraction is the Baroque Reggia, or Royal Palace, which represents one of the greatest accomplishments of 18th century architecture and art. The palace has over one thousand furnished rooms served by 34 stairways. It sits amongst a gorgeously landscaped park, which sports artificial waterfalls fed by a 50 kilometre-long aqueduct, built over two centuries ago. Caserta enjoys a Mediterranean climate of mild winters and dry summers, and offers visitors historic sightseeing in the ancient parts of the town, which have been preserved well over the centuries
