This event begins with a 2km swim in the clear ocean waters off the Pacific Islands Club, followed by 60kms of cycling on the island’s scenic bike courses and ends with a 15km run along the western lagoon. Cash prizes are awarded for the top six male and female competitors and trophies are awarded to age group winners. For the kids’ event, the competition is organised by age group: from 6-9 years, there is a 100m swim, 5km bike course and a 1km run; for 10-13 years, there’s a 200m swim, 10km bike course and 2km run. Four more than four decades, this special event has been held featuring two consecutive weekends of entertainment, food and drink, games and races. A free outdoor concert is held on the last day of the festival, showcasing top local talent.
