Villa Ombak was the first hotel on the island. Each two storey lumbung hut in the Villa Ombak consists of one bedroom with an open balcony upstairs and semi open bathroom downstairs with a thatched roof that helps it to blend harmoniously with the island's landscape. The perfect escape for those travelling on a low budget.

Rated #13 for all Lombok hotels
We stayed in the new rooms. The facilities are very good. The staff and the organisation was excellent and Jam Keret(rubber time) was non existent.i.e when you asked for something it happened when you requested not at any time soon. The breakfast was very good and the staff well trained and attentive. Some finishing in the rooms would be good like soap holders and toilet roll holders but these did not detract from a very good experience...

+ Nice rooms and hotelarea
Good divingfacility- Poor service (staff not helpful or particularly friendly)
Horrible laundryservice (clothes not clean and smelled sour after washing)
Good food, but ordered squid from the grill without specifying quantity and got a portion for 2 persons or more that I of course couldn't finish, but had to pay per weight.

We stayed 4 days in family bungalow. I would say the staff there are very firendly and helpful. We encountered our AC leaking but the machanic came very quickly and fixed the problem in short time. The swim pool is very nice as well. I can feel that the management of this hotel is quite successful because of their employees' professionism. Even the driver who sent us at check out day from harbour to Lombok Kuta is very gentle and with driving politely. The pizza made with wood fire is also delicious.

I had booked a Superior Lumbung hut after reading the description on the website. When we booked in and went to the room we found that the bedroom was upstairs as described, but that the outdoor bathroom was downstairs and was reached by incredibly steep stairs with no handrails and no lights, that led off the back of the bedroom. In the website it says outdoor bathroom but not that it is downstairs. As my husband is in his 70's and recently had a hip replacement this was not suitable. When we went back to reception and explained, they said they could give us a normal room but it would be $30 US more. I refused and then it became $20 more and then they called the Manager and it became $10 more and when I kept refusing the room was changed at no extra cost. I was not happy that they tried to charge me more, as we had paid more than a standard room to book a Lombung hut.
I believe the website should explain how these Lumbung hut is set up as it would only suit young and very fit people

The family bungalow is recommendable. Very spacious and nice. There was some construction going on around the pool (May 08 for 3 months), but this was not really disturbing. Very nice resort with very kind people. Worth its money.

The pool would appreciate a 're-coat' of paint and the roof in the Lumbong leaked (onto electrical sockets). Gili Trawangan is not 5* by any means, but if you are looking to 'chill out', then this is for you.
Only real downside was thefts from the 'secure' garden area of the Lumbong, which was a little frustrating. I guess this is Indonesia though!

It's a very classy and nice place. thought it's a little overpriced though for the kind of facilities it offered.
Like to open air bathroom _ No roof... think it's really nice to have a bath out in the open once in a while (in the privacy of the enclosure of your room though)
don't really like to salt water showers though & also the tap.. (though i understand that there's a limited fresh water supply)
it was generally a good experience, but not the most comfortable.

Vila Ombak was the most luxurious place on the island. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Service quality and customer care policy is praise worthy.
