"First time I had ever booked over the internet or stayed at a hotel that was not part of a large chain so I had some reservations about how things might turn out. The Alang Alang more that surpassed our highest expectations. The location is absolutely beautiful, right on the beach with magnificent views of Mount Agung across the Lombok Straits. The rooms are lovely, exceptionally clean and well maintained, the pictures do not do them justice. What we enjoyed the most though was the friendliness and high degree of personal service from the staff. Absolutely nothing was too much trouble and there were so many little extras from fresh flowers throughout our room every day to complimentary fruit platters. We are a group of 3 couples who travel abroad together each year and this is the first time that each and every one of us has agreed this is as close to Paradise as we have come to so far."

"Our bungalow, just 100 feet from the sea, was beautifully appointed and very clean. Staff were friendly and accomodating. Each afternoon they delivered a fresh fruit plate to us. The swimming pool has a sort of enclosed grotto in the center that makes a romantic place to "hide out." From inside it, once can look up and see palm trees, bougainvillea, and butterflies flitting across the opening. I would definitely go there again."
