Mercure Resort Sanur Bali (formerly the Raddin Sanur Bali), is situated on the white sandy beach of Sanur, Bali's most famous tropical beach where trees offer shade and the surounding waters are protected by a beautiful reef that offers abundant sea-life that is perfect for underwater adventuring. The Mercure Resort Sanur Bali gardens have night blooming jasmine, multi-coloured orchids, bougainvillaeas and frangipani trees which create a resplendent series of groomed walkways and gardens which guests can enjoy on foot or from the comfort of their porches.

We had two visits to the Mercure separated by the two nights that we spent at the ARMA Resort in Ubud. The Mercure is exactly what I expected of a large hotel that belongs to an international chain. The rooms are fine, the fridge cold! We bought the local beer (Bintang) from shops just outside the hotel and kept it in the room fridge as it was half the price of the same beer from the hotel. The Mercure must expect this as they even mention it in the room guide! The hotel is set in a large garden property on the edge of the magnificent beach at Sanur. I swam in the sea and in one of the two beautiful pools and enjoyed both. There is a bar on the beach which is nice to visit at night. The buffet breakfast was outstanding; fresh tropical fuits, bread selection, cheese and cold meat, chicken porridge and other Indonsian dishes, egg station (eggs cooked any way you like), bacon, crepes, waffles and pancakes, croissant and other bakery items and fresh fruit juices. If you like a good meal in the morning which will take you through to dinner, I highly recommend the buffet breakfast. The hotel is only a few minutes walk from some of the Sanur restaurants so there is no shortage of places to eat.
I recommend the Mercure and I'd go back.

Whilst the staff were very friendly and helpful, it was hard to believe that this is a 4 star hotel. Every request took a long time to be actioned, and sometimes they just completely forget. I had to wait 3 hours to check into my room and ask 4 times for the key !! I would recommend you lift the staffing service levels. Also, what about putting water, chocolate and snacks in the fridge for guests.

Second time at the Hotel with first being our Honeymoon in 1998 when it was called the Park Royal. Standards are higher but the welcome as usual made you feel wanted. An idyllic stay due to the friendliness of all staff who treated you as a friend, not a client. Well Done to all concerned

Spa & gym were being renovated, so they were not available. Two small moans - not enough sunloungers on the beach; if you weren't on the beach by 9.30, you couldn't get one. Also there was a little seaweed in the sea, mixed in with old plastic bags, that the tide left on the beach - the hotel could have raked it up more often.
