Melasti Beach Resort was perfect. Great and friendly staff, made our stay fantastic. The pool bar is a treat and is well worth your money! The king size bed is just a dream and the room service was excellent. Will definitely be going back there to stay!...

The pool area really lets this hotel down. They are both really run down. No stairs into one of the pools which is hard for older people.

Location was great, just a short walk to good shopping and food. The staff were wonderful, always friendly. The hotel was a little run down, it needed some maintainence and tidying up. There was a leak in our bathroom, doors were tricky to lock/unlock. We wouldnt stay there again.

Hotel is starting to get a bit tired and possibly needs refurbishment. On the whole the staff were friendly and as we were in the cottage suites the size of the rooms were excellent. We had ground floor rooms and in one of the rooms the bathroom had a funny smell but it was still OK, so would suggest you request an upstairs room. Location was good, plenty of restaurants in walking distance and the same applied for the shopping.Unfortunately the beach was disgusting with lots of rubbish washed up on the beach, and this meant that the ocean water was full of "crap". There are 3 pools although 1 seemed to be just for the rooms that were facing it. I stand at about 5ft 10in and I couldn't touch the bottom in the bigger of the two pools which I didn't like. The other pool I could stand but the water level came up to my chin, I prefer a pool with a shallow end. In both of these pools there is a section for kids but even that was too deep I thought. So if you have little kids please take floaties with you just to be safe. There are not many lounges around the pool so you had to be lucky to get one. I suggest that you take a couple of noodles for the pool as then you can float around with out too much trouble, they do have a few but not many, I think that other guests have taken them over and then left them there which is a good idea.Overall I thought the pools were too deep to really enjoy them, but I still did use them. Breaky was basic but good, nice view of the beach from this restaurant. Overall for a 3 star hotel is was good value for money and would consider this hotel again.

The hotel was rated a 3 star, which it was. The hotel needs to have an upgrade to the facilities. Grounds were kept clean and tidy, staff were friendly and more than helpful with any inquiries. Was close to shopping and restaurants. Food was a little average from the hotel. Would stay there again if the hotel was upgraded.

The Melasti Beach Resort is a large older complex with friendly staff and its location is so central to all your holiday needs. I stayed there in a superior ground floor room directly opposite the spa for 16 great days. The facilities include a small hardly ever used gym, table tennis table, pool table, wonderful spa, 3 pools and a range of accommodation to suit from the single traveller to large group. The food at breakfast was hearty with plenty of choices, albeit that the hot bain marie dishes were possibly from dinner the night before. The egg, toast, drinks and fruit stations offer a good variety and the restaurant overlooks the ocean. What a lovely way to start your day. My superior room was large with plenty of storage and seating for four as well as a huge bed and equally large bathroom with both a shower stall and shower over a good size bath( I am 196cm and was able to have a reasonable bath!!!). The hot water pressure flucuated but I was always able to enjoy refreshing showers. The superior rooms do not have a in room safe but do get a security box at reception. Dont forget to bring an additional small padlock with you. There are numerous shops, warungs( small cafes), restaurants, spas, transport within minutes of the resort. The beach is directly opposite a small pedestrian only path that allows you to stroll either all the way to Kuta about 25 mins) or north to Seminyak and beyond. If you want to be away from the crush of Kuta and are looking for a comfortable affordable place to spend your time in Bali then the Melasti should be a resort you consider. I am going back in March. Cant wait!!!

The Melasti Beach Hotel is in an excellent location for shopping eating etc. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. We found that the breakfast (included in our price of stay) was pretty average, but ok. The one thing we noticed from day one was that the curtins in our hotel room were not dark enough, thus waking at day break most days. I would recommend the hotel to families as it seemed to have a good family atmosphere. If you are a couple however I would probably recommend you stay at a more upmarket hotel. Having said this, it was xmas after all, a family time!!! Finally, I dont think you would be dissapointed if you were to book your next holiday at the Melasti. ps At this time of year the beach out the front is full of rubbish from the big tides!!!! The pool is the best option.

Overall experience was very good. Great location, close to shops and beach and easy to get to by car. Rooms were excellent (with very effective air conditioner). The pools and bar in pool were excellent as well. The variety of differing pools was great for my children. The security could have been improved.

I originally booked in to a standard room but had to upgrade as they were all situated on a noisy road & were very old. The room I moved to was in the new wing that overlooked the pool. It was spacious & clean & well worth the extra money. Breakfast was included in the rate & was great! The only disappoinment was that I found the reception staff to be a bit unfriendly.
