Room had no direct-dial phone - consequently I could not connect my computer and retrieve my eMail or do any other work using my computer. For this reason alone I will never stay in this hotel or any other hotel without that service. If the hotel did have direct-dial capability, it would still be very hard to do any work from that room: I would have to use the bed as a desk, and sit on the floor! The grass roof was very charming, but not exactly soundproof - I never knew frogs, ducks, lizards and bats could make so much noise all night. I always use the safe in a hotel room, but the safe in that room I could not operate.

The room was beautiful, it was a 2-storey room with the bathroom downstairs and a lovely terrace with a giant chaise lounge (with cushions) and a table and chairs, overlooking the rice paddies. It was so close to Monkey Forest Rd. and we could walk everywhere. Yet, at the hotel you felt like you were in the middle of the countryside. The pool was really nice. The whole place is intimate and the gardens are beautiful. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. If you want a quiet, beautiful setting that is close to everything, this is a great place.
