To be fair this hotel like every 3 star hotel in Bali represents good value for the money paid. The hotel has seen better days but it is clean! the facilities such as plumbing and electricity are close to their use by date and in need of some maintenance BUT everything worked OK. The sheets and towels were changed everyday but they, like the hotel are close to their 'use by dates' as well But they are clean! Staff were pleasant. Thankfully there are plenty of really good restraunts within walking distance ... I was singularly unimpressed with the hotel's restaraunt. Public transport in Bali really means Taxis and they are cheap as well. The room was a good size, the swimming pool clean ... No complaints from me. After all, if you want more then expect to pay for a 4 or 5 star hotel.

Nice hotel. Peaceful place. Not much facilities for food except the hotel's only restaurant which is very expensive. Minimart or other food outlets not easily accessible or walking distance. No tour desk or service. Still VFM for budget hotel

This trip was my first trip to Bali together with my son Kenwick, Bali Ayu was a nice hotel with nice environment and friendly staffs. Especially when I checked in on Friday night it was already 11pm and the hotel room service has closed but the friendly staff still took the trouble help us buying take away food from outside, this was the real service provided by Bali Ayu Hotel, keep it up for sure will be back here again.

The cleanliness of the bathroom can be improved significantly. The breakfast was bland. The spa was nice though but the opening hours should be extended.

We booked the Superior Villa and were very disappointed with it so we upgraded to the 1 bedroom pool villa. The Superior villa was nasty. Toilet had urine on the seat. Kitchen and bathroom were awful. The 1 bedroom villa was well worth the upgrade. Nice room overlooking the private pool. I had a dew issues though with this place. 1. The pool was dirty 2. The hotel does not allow mosquito coils to be used in the facility. They did not even provide an electrical mosquito repellent. We stayed in 7 different hotel in Indonesia and this was the first place that did not provide some sort of protection. There was also no mosquito net. We woke up covered in bites. Even on our faces. 3. Porters (3 came around to help us with out bags...due to them not having a cart....how convenient) would not leave the room after delivering our bags. They showed me where the toilet was , where the rugs should go on the floor and became a pest. The only way to get rid of them is to tip them....all 3 of them.

The front door should have latches or be more securely locked. Have a 'do not disturb' and 'pls clean room' sign to make it easier on both the patron and housekeeping ppl. I was in the washroom when housekeepers unlocked my door and proceeded to walk in, had I not stopped them. Essentials like shampoo/conditioner should be provided. Wastepaper bins ought to be lined.

The 2 Bedroom Villa with private pool was decorated lovely and the pool was perfect. I feel the bedroom needed more seating and maybe a small table so you could sit and watch tv and have a coffee without having to sit on the bed. I also feel that they could possibly do with upgrading the linen as the towels were very stiff and the bed linen was slightly stained. The staff were very friendly and always ready to help, but was very disapointed with the restaurant as it didn't seem to be the same as that which is on the web site for the hotel as the Menu selection was very poor as a result we chose to eat elsewhere while staying there, but these are only small hiccups and we would stay again when we next come to Bali and would recommend it to anyone we know who is planning to visit Bali

We were staying in a two-bedroom villa which was great for two friends traveling together - in the evening we could both enjoy the privacy of our own bedroom and bathroom. The villa had a private pool, breakfast was served in our room each morning, we could choose between American, Continental or Indonesian breakfast, all of them nicely made and delivered swiftly after ordering. The staff was very nice and friendly as we came to notice people all over Bali are. There was also a nice little spa in the hotel and we enjoyed a wonderful Balinese massage over there. The location in Seminyak was perfect for us, away from the night life of Kuta, a walking distance to the beach, nice dining restaurants nearby. Very nice hotel, well worth staying.

The hotel was excellent value for the price. A good 10 minute walk to the beach and some good restuarants within walking distance.

The only problem I encountered was excessive noise from the adjoining room. This to me was a disadvantage.
