ARMA Museum & Resort, or Agung Rai Museum of Art, to give its full title is a testament to the area of Ubud, known as the Village of Artists; conceived by the owner on the principle that art should be enjoyed, and preserved to be shared to inspire others. The accommodation is true to its roots, with every possible detail fastidiously observed to emanate a sincere and awe-inspiring environment. The complex also has its own Fine Art gallery and Cultural Workshop in addition to the expected facilities of a superbly-appointed hotel.

Rated #9 for all Bali hotels
A very beautiful resort set in a magnificent tropical garden. The garden was particularly stunning - the photos of it cannot capture its charm and tasteful design. There are several large water features so the sound of running water soothess you to sleep. The Staff were very friendly and helpful and efficient. We were upgraded to a private villa with pool which was sensational. It had a huge bathroom, with the option of an outdoor shower which was accessed by stepping stones across a small pond inhabited by goldfish and frogs. The location is excellent - it is about a 20 minute walk to Ubu...

We were at the arm from 10/21 -10/23/09 and absolutely loved it. The grounds are absolutely gorgeous; you could spend an afternoon just exploring them and taking photos. Also the Arma museum is immediately adjacent to the hotel property and has amazing Balinese art. The staff, especially Made, goes out of their way to make sure your needs are met - we even had our room upgraded when we weren't happy with the first one. The rooms are furnished in a clean modern style with all the necessities you require. Except there's not TV - this was fine for us as we didn't go to Ubud to watch TV. The shuttle service is convenient and provides very affordable "off schedule" pick-up so you aren't tied to returning at the scheduled pick-up times and location. We will stay again at the Arma when we return. It is a good quality value.

Nice and quiet location-great for a relaxing holiday. There was no gym there which would have been nice- especially as it's not easy to run on teh streets. We opted to eat out of the hotel only taking the breakfast- but the menu looked good and reasonably priced. A bit more variety at breakfast would be nice and if the location of breakfast changes please tell the geusta! Overall we were pleased with our time spent at the resort and in Ubud.

I have stayed at Arma on several occasions and wouldn't go anywhere else. It is the most delightful holiday place. The staff are friendly, the gardens are magnificent and the owner is a very pleasant approachable person. I can't wait to return.

We were upgraded to a private villa with pool which was sensational. It had a huge bathroom, with the option of an outdoor shower which was accessed by stepping stones across a small pond inhabited by goldfish and frogs. The location is excellent - it is about a 20 minute walk to Ubud palace also the Monkey Forest, and the route for both these tourist attractions takes you along roads with excellent shopping options. It is also right next door to the ARMA Museum which showcases the history of Balinese art. Although the breakfast options are not as varied as in some other resorts the food was beautiful and stylishly presented. We would definitely return and recommend it to those who love their Bali experience served with traditional architecture and decore accompanied by charming service. From our point of view the pleasures of this resort far outweigh any minor blemishes, such as slightly tired curtains or the ocasionally temperamental toilet in our villa.

The location and surrounds of the hotel were wonderful. The staff were extremely helpful, friendly and informative. We had a problem with our room at first and the management happily moved us so that we were completely satisfied. The additional benefits of being part of the ARMA museum complex meant we were able to see and participate in the culture of the area.Watching local children being taught dance and music was highlight of our holiday. I would happily recommend this hotel and certainly stay there again.
