The A/C was a modern very quiet system. The bed spacious and everything functioned correctly. I only really could fault the facilities by saying that there wasn't Internet access on site for the guests - however there was a cafe more or less next door. The location was really ideal, in the main part of Kovalam there is plenty of hustle and bustle, but it only cost a couple of dollars to travel to the centre and I preferred living outside the main centre. Two restaurants and a cafe provided a nice variety of Indian Chinese and Western foods. I only ever ate Indian food but the quality and the...

I only ever ate Indian food but the quality and the pricing were as in Kovalam or in the local restaurants. Every evening there was entertainment provided - dancers, classical music, an oldies band. The quality was very good. One charming feature of the hotel was that every morning the local fishermen haul in their nets which are nearly 1km long. This usually took about 11/2 hours every morning and it was a colourful spectacle to watch and listen to. Only problem as I was there was that 10 days before there had been an earthquake and the beach had vanished. Every day a bit more beach re-appeared and I guess even now as I am writing this review (three weeks after the event) the beach will be back to it's former status. The hotel was definitely worth its 4 star rating and the price we paid was exceptional value for money.

We liked the hotel very much. At the beginning tere were some things that were not quite what we are used to but they did not matter so much after a while. Biggest problem was the lack of hot water. ...
